    Nice to see that you are Interested to become IPS Officer and if your aim is to become IPS Officer in future then please complete your Graduate degree course first, Only then you are eligible to appeared for UPSC Civil services examination.

    Eligibility Criteria for Civil Services Examination:


    You have to complete your Graduate degree course in any discipline from a recognised University.

    Final year appearing candidates are also eligible for this examination

    Your age should between 21 to 30 years, Upper age relaxation is applicable for SC/ST/OBC Candidates.

    So, You can choose any stream in your 12Th examination OR in your Graduation to apply for UPSC Civil services examination.

    When you completed your Graduate degree course then you are eligible for UPSC Civil services examination.

    The examination is conducted every year and the notification of this examination is published in the Employment Newspaper or in the UPSC Website. Eligible candidates may fill the application form online Only. No offline application form facility is applicable for any candidates .

    You will get Limited chance to cracked this examination and if you failed to cracked this examination within the given Limits then you cannot apply for this examination again.

    Number Of Attempts Allowed :

    >> For General candidates : 4 Attempts
    >> For OBC Candidates : 7 Attempts
    >> For SC/ST : No Limits

    FRIEND,

    If you wanted to become an IPS future then it is great because this job is full of honour and respect and You will get to do a lot in future.

    But friend to be eligible to appear for the IPS exam there is no need to choose any particular stream you can select any one but you have to have a knowledge in depth of the subject and stream because then only you will be able to clear the exams of the IPS.

    You can select any stream you want or you have interest in.

    To be eligible to appear for the IPS exams you must have done Graduation in any field from any recognized University.

    And you must be of age in range of 21 to 30 years if you are in general category and if you belong to reserved category then you have age relaxation of 3 and 5 years for OBC and SC/ST respectively.

    Number of attempts:
    • For GENERAL CATEGORY: 4 attempts
    • For OBC : 7 attempts
    • For SC/ST : NO limit.

    Eligibility Criteria :

    For Indian Police Service ,you must be citizen of India.

    Age limits :

    You must have attained the age of 21 Yrs and must not Attained the age of 30 Yrs on 1st August,2012.

    The Upper age limit will be Applicable for SC/ST and OBC candidates.

    Upto a maximum Five Years for Scheduled caste and Scheduled tribes.

    Upto a Maximum three years for Other Backward Classes.


    Education Qualification :

    You must hold a Bachelor's degree of any Recognized University.

    If you are in the final year of a degree course can also Eligible.

    Number of Attempts :

    Four Attempts for Open.

    Seven Attempts for OBC category.

    No Limit for SC/ST.

    Physical Fitness Is very Important for IPS Exam.

    Male 165 Cm Pahari Male (General also) & ST (Not SC/OBC) - 160 Cm.

    Female 150 Cm Pahari female (General also) & ST (Not SC/OBC) - 145 Cm.

    You can take any stream to opt in intermediate course...............because IPS eligibility criteria is only Graduation in any stream................

    dear IPS( Indian police service) is considered as the second most preferred career choice in india next to the IAS and it is a prestigious one and brevity. you have to clear the UPSC examination to join in this great organization.
    you can select any stream in your 10+2 , but you must have graduate from any stream to write this exam
    eligibility for the IPS
    age requirement
    your age must be 21 years of age on 1st of august.
    you must have 21-30 years of age to be qualified,
    if you are belong to sc/st category than you must have 35 years of age limit. for ex serviceman 5 more years of age relaxation is given.
    education qualification
    you must have a degree from any recognized university,
    physical standards
    your height must be 150cms if you are belong to general category.
    if you belong to sc/st castes you must have 160cms for male and 145 cms for female.
    chest must be expanded to 5 cms.
    spectacles is also allowed
    your eyesight must be 6/12 or 6/29 distant vision for worse eyes and 6/6 or 6/9 for good eye vision.
    UPSC details
    you may know that the recruitment process of civil services exam conducted by the union public service examination is called the CSAT or the civil service aptitude test.
    the civil service examination consists of two types
    civil services preliminary examination =this exam is conducted for the selection for main examination.
    civil services main examination consists of both objective carries 200 marks each paper totally 400 marks.

    IPS ( Indian Police Service ) and this exams are conducted by UPSC every year. this exam is conducted to recruit IPS officers .

    My friend 12th stream does not matter ,you need to do graduation in any stream.

    Eligibility for IPS exam:

    1.You must complete your Graduation Degree.

    2.your graduation degree can be in any stream.


    3.You must have attained 21 years and not be over 30 years on August 1 of the year of examination.

    The upper age limit is relaxed in specific cases as mentioned below:
    upto a maximum of 5 years if the candidate belongs to SC/ST.
    upto a maximum of 3 years if the candidate belongs to Other Backward Classes(BC's)

    dear friend,
    if you want to become a IPS ( Indian Police Service ) officer then its a good choice but for that you have do a lot of hard work.

    Now you are doing intermediate course then it does not matter which subjects you do study in 11-12th class.

    There is no such eligibility criteria for IPS.


    You can choose any subject in 11th-12th class ,whatever you like.


    Eligibility for IPS exam:

    To become a IPS officer you have to appear for CSAT exam.

    CSAT stands for Civil Services Aptitude Test. if you can successfully pass the Civil Services (Mains) Exam and the subsequent Interview, will be appointed for the prestigious IAS (Indian Administrative Service), IPS (Indian Police Service), IFS (Indian Foreign Service), IRS (Indian Revenue Service) .


    About 3,00,000 people are expected to take the test and about 11,000 people will be qualified for the Civil Services (Mains) Exam.

    first of all let me congratulate you for choosing one of the prestigious group as your career option.It is highly good and well professional course and cracking IPS is not so complicated too.It includes just some hardwork and a bit of knowledge on current affairs.As you want to pursue IPS then there is no special stream for it in intermediate take whatever group it doesnt matter.Below are some details regarding IPS syllabus :
    SCHEME OF EXAMINATION:
    CIVIL SERVICES PRELIMINARY EXAMINATIONS(CSP) - generally conducted in the minth of may
    CIVIL SERVICES MAIN EXAMINTION - generally conducted in the month of october/november. here if you are selected throgh preliminary exams, only you are eligible
    Those are selected inthe main exam will be eligible for the interview phase conducted in NEW DELHI.
    SCHEME OF VALUATION :
    TOTAL MARKS FOR WRITTEN TEST : 2000
    TOTAL MARKS FOR INTERVIEW : 300
    GRAND TOTAL : 2300
    PATTERN OF THE EXAMINATION:
    PAPER-I : One of the 18 indian languges selected by you which are affiliated by the indian constitution
    TOTAL MARKS FOR PAPER-I : 300
    PAPER-II : ENGLISH (QUALIFYING PAPER) TOTAL MARKS : 300
    PAPER-III : ESSAY TOTAL MARKS : 200
    PAPER-IV & V : GENERAL STUDIES TOTAL MARKS : 600
    PAPER-VI,VII,VIII,IX : You have to choose any two subjects which are prescribed in the syallabus TOTAL MARKS : 1200
    INTERVIEW : 300
    If observed you can easily score 800 marks if you are thorough in the languages part english is very easy paper in which you can see synonyms antonyms e.t.c which you are practising from schooling so, first try to be perfect in languages and easily 800 marks will be in your hands. so, plan up well and hope you willl become an IPS officer.
