    Which stream to opt after12th(Non-Medical) to become an IPS Officer in future?

    hello
    i have done my 12th in non-medical stream.so now which subjects should i opt to be an IPS officer?

    You can opt for any stream after 12th class in graduation to become an IPS officer in future. The important criterion to apply for UPSC Civil Services exam for IPS post is a graduation from a recognized institute. Graduation can be pursued in any subject as per your interest area. Minimum age limit to attend this exam is 21 years. Maximum age limit for this post is 30 years. Age relaxation is given for reserved categories. You need to qualify in UPSC Civil service exam for this post. If you are successful in clearing this exam you can appear for Physical test and personal Interview also.

    Hello Friend !!

    IPS Officer :




    In order to become an IPS officer you need to appear for Civil Service Examinations conducted by UPSC.

    The Eligibility Criteria for Civils is :

    Graduates in any discipline from a recognised university.

    If you are having professional and technical qualifications recognised by the government are also eligible.

    You must be a citizen of India .

    You must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years on the 1st August of the year in which examination is being held .

    Age relaxation :-

    General : No relaxation
    BC : up to 33 years
    SC / ST : no limit and up to 35 years

    If you Satisfy the Eligibility Levels then you should follow the steps to become an IPS officer.

    Step 1 :

    As a first step the aspirant has to procure the Application Form along with Information Brochure from any of the Head Post Offices or Post Offices spread throughout the country and sent the filled Application form to:

    The Secretary,
    Union Public Service Commission,
    Dholpur House, New Delhi - 110011.

    Step 2 :

    In the month of May or June you have to take the Preliminary Exam Consisting of two papers.

    Paper 1

    Current events of national and international importance
    History of India and Indian National Movement
    Indian and World Geography - Physical, Social, Economic geography of India and the World.
    Indian Polity and Governance Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy,Rights Issues, etc.
    Economic and Social Development Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector Initiatives, etc.
    General issues on Environmental ecology, Bio-diversity and Climate Change - that do not require subject specialization
    General Science

    Paper 2

    Comprehension
    Interpersonal skills including communication skills;
    Logical reasoning and analytical ability
    Decision making and problem solving
    General mental ability
    General Science
    General Issues on environmental ecology, bio diversity and climate change that do not require subject speciliation.

    Step 3 :

    If you are qualified in the above prelims examination, then you are called for Mains Examination.

    The main exam pattern is like :


    Step 4 :

    Once you are Qualified in all the above steps the final stage is the interview.

    The aspirants are grilled in the interview to test their personality and mental ability.

    Then the final list of the successful candidates is prepared and the candidates who have secured very good rank out of 400-450(approx.)

    Top ranks are admitted to the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy as IPS probationers.

    After completion of their training they are posted as per requirements of the Central and State Governments police and investigative organisation.

    And next you will become an IPS officer.

    IPS officer Salary :

    Salary of IPS officers in quite good esprcially after implementation of fifth pay commission.

    Entry Level IPS officers are paid around Rs.40,000 a month,

    Middle Level IPS officers get around Rs.60,000 a month whereas

    Senior Level IPS officer get around Rs.80,000 a month.

    Its not mandatory that you should should complete your graduation from a particular stream to apply for IPS exam.

    IPS is the post included in the Civil services exam which is conducted by UPSC every year.

    IPS,IAS,IFS all this posts come under civil services.

    To get these posts you need to qualify the civil service exam.

    Civil service exam consists of 3 stages :-

    1. Preliminary ,
    2. Mains and
    3. Interview.

    • You need to clear Preliminary exam to be eligible to appear for Mains exam.
    • After clearing Preliminary and Mains you will shortlisted and will be called to Interview.
    To apply for Civil service exam you need to satisfy the below criteria :-
    • You need to have completed your Graduation from a recognized university.
    • Your age need to be between 21-30 years .
    • Age relaxation is only for SC/ST/OBC candidates.
    • For SC/ST age relaxation is 5 years and for OBC it is 3 years.
    • Attempts are also limited for General and OBC category's where as for SC/ST there is no Limit they can apply till there are eligible according to there Age.
    • Where as for OBC the limits are 7 and for General they are 4 Attempts.
    • You need to be citizen of INDIA.

    So option for any stream in your 12th , but you need to complete your Graduation to be eligible to apply for Civil service exam.

    dear friend ,

    IPS stands for Indian police service .this exam is conducted by UPSC once in a year .

    you can opt any of the stream in which you have great stream because there is no fixed stream for this exam .

    friend eligibility criteria for this exam are :-

    you must be a citizen of India .

    your age must be within 21 to 30 years .special age relaxation is given to the sc/st and obc candidates upto 5 years .

    you must have done your graduation with any stream from a recongnised university .

    friend to apply for this exam you must have these criteria for sure .

    dear opt your stream in which you have interest and which has a scope in future .

    You can take any stream after 12th class to become an IPS officer in future.
    to become IPS officer you have to attend exam which is conducted by UPSC

    You need to complete your graduation from any steam from a reocgnized university after 12th.
    For IAS you have to appear in civil services examination conducted by upsc.
    For appearing in examination you have to complete your graduation in any stream.
