    Staff Selection Commission Junior Translator CSOL Exam

    Candidates who are interested to apply for the post of Junior Translators in different government offices which functions under Official language department need to qualify written exam conducted by Staff Selection Commission annually. It is essential to qualify this exam so as to get in to Junior Translator post.

    Structure and Pattern of Staff Selection Commission Junior Translator CSOL Exam

    Staff Selection Commission Junior Translator CSOL Exam are divided in to two sections –
    • Section – 1 – Objective type questions – 200 marks – Time duration – 2 hours
    • Section – 2 – Essay questions and Translation of passages – 200 marks – Time duration – 2 hours
    Candidates qualifying both sections of the written exam can attend the personality test. Personality Test will generally involve questions from the following areas like –
    • Communication skill
    • General knowledge
    • Personal interests
    Syllabus of Staff Selection Commission Junior Translator CSOL Exam is as follows -

    Section – 1 – Objective type questions

    General Hindi - 100 Questions - 100 Marks
    • Writing language correctly & precisely
    • Vocabulary
    • Synonyms
    • Spellings
    • Sentence structure
    • Sentence completion
    • Phrases and idioms
    • Grammar
    • Fill in the blanks (using verbs, preposition, articles etc.)
    • Error recognition
    • Correct use of words
    • Antonyms
    General English - 100 Questions - 100 Marks
    • Phrases and idioms
    • Sentence completion
    • Sentence structure
    • Correct use of words
    • Antonyms
    • Fill in the blanks (using verbs, preposition, articles etc.)
    • Grammar
    • Error recognition
    • Synonyms
    • Writing skills
    • Vocabulary
    • Spellings
    Section – 2 – Essay questions and Translation of passages
    • Two Essays (both in English and Hindi)
    • 2 Passages for Translation (1 from English to Hindi and vice versa)
    Eligibility criteria of Staff Selection Commission Junior Translator CSOL Exam

    Post graduation is the main qualification required to apply for SSC Junior Translator CSOL Exam. Post graduation should be taken in any of the subjects English/Hindi. Those candidates who posses a post graduate degree in any subject can also apply for this exam provided they choose Hindi/English as one of the elective subjects in graduation course. Candidates who have at least 2 years experience in translation works in any of the central or state government departments can also apply for this exam. Higher age limit to apply for this exam is 35 years.
