OH SURE U CAN GET A GOOD GOVT COLLEGE IF U WILL MAKE A DROP..BUT U WILL HAVE TO PREPARE SINCERELY IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO LEARN OR TO STUDY 13-14 HOURS DAILY.JUST DO A STUDY OF 4-5 HOURS SINCERE STUDY..U WILL GET THROUGH ANY OF THE ENTRANCES...
AND U LATER ON WILL REALIZE TAHT HOW MUCH U HAD MISSED IF U HAVE NOT CHOOSEN FOR A DROP....
BUT I WILL SAY ALL THE BEST.MAY U GET A GOVT COLLEGE THIS YEAR ONLY..

if you are sure to work hard then take a year drop.Join a good coaching class and prepare yourself.Because its really tough to study as a dropper,so i advise to enroll in a good private engineering college and alongside study for entrance exams to be on a safer side.wish u good luck!

    its all upon you.
if you sure taking a drop will help you then go ahead.
but make sure that 1 year costs a lot.

hi, friend if you are really determined to get a seat in good college and if you are confident that you can work hard for your goal seriously

then it is a good decision to prepare for one year.

but there is an important thing to tell for you " time is very precious and once it is lost we wont get it back" . so my sincere advice is

if you have great desire and interest to get good college take one year coaching else if you dont want to take a risk of dropping an year

try for available college seats or management quota seats

Dear as you mentioned that you want a good government college for B.E or B.Tech and after +2 you are so confused for getting admission this year or wants to preparation for engineering competitive exams for next year So it is more better according to me to try this year for a good college because you did not mention that how much rank you got in this year competitive exams held by IIT,AIEEE or any state entrance exam because let us suppose 1% if you did not get good college next year then this 1 year gap for preparation is useless for you and also you have to give the best reason for this gap when interviewer asked you at the time of getting placement or job so think deeply according to your decision so try for best .

THIS IS YOUR GOOD CHOICE BECAUSE IN CURRENT YOU HAVE LOTS OF PRESSURE OF 10+2 SO YOU DID'T GET GOOD SCORE IN EXAM.

SO YOU CAN JOIN IN ANY COACHING CENTER.

ALSO FOCUS ON STUDY .YOU HAVE ONE YEAR KNOWLEDGE OF THIS EXAM.

SO IT WILL HELP YOU TO GET GOOD SCORE.

    BEST OF LUCK DEAR

First of all my friend if you are planning to drop a year,
then be ready to put all of your effots into it.
You should be confident enough before taking this decision,
otherwise you are only going to waste your time and money.
Plan your strategies, select a good coaching institute,
and then drop for a year.
    Prepare in a systematic way.
Learn the basic concepts and then learn to apply them.
Practise as much as you can.
Prepare for IIT JEE level so that you can atleast crach AIEEE or some other state level
    engineering entrance.
A good rank will definitely help you to secure a seat in a good
    institute.
    Best of luck.

Dear friend from your biodata it seems like that for a reason you have not studied in your 12 class and also in 11 class. Since you have some potential unused, you can go for a drop because wasting a year is more fruitfull than wasting whole of your career when you realise your mistake and especially when you wanna do hardwork. So you can go for a drop but remember you should be serious this time and will not repeat any of the things that let you stop this year to acheive you goal.
    Best of luck...........

Most of the Non-medical students are going this way. You can now do good preparation in one yr, also it wont affect at placement time as you have a reason to tell.
But this time , take it seriously, if you dont get selected in any of the engineering exam, then really it would become serious problem.

That is depend on yourself. If you think to take a good rank in engineering competitive exam then take a year drop but year drop is not good. After 10th you decide you give engineering exam and take good preparation. There are also many coaching center for engineering exam.

    Dear Friend,
-If you are very interested in pursuing Engineering and confident of cracking the Joint Entrance Examination, then in my opinion, dropping a year is not a bad idea.
-If you are highly dedicated towards your dreams of studying in a Government Engineering College and work hard towards attaining your dreams, then you will definitely succeed.
-First you need to realise that this one year is all the more precious for you as you have dropped it just for preparations. So adopt a systematic way of studying.Try to solve all your doubts.
Make sure you solve loads of model papers.Practice shouldn't be left out anytime during this period of a year.
-If you strive for success and work hard, then dropping one year is not a big deal and could reap you benefits.
    Good Luck.

Re: Should I take a year drop for preparation of engeneering competitive exams? Will this drop help me in getting a good govt college?

    dear friend,

if you want to go for the best engineering course then you have to fight the entrance exam. you can fill the form of the entrance exam and if you get good rank then you can go for the college for the b.tech, but if you don't get the best rank then you can do the preparations for the b.tech after the 12th.

you have to follow these instructions:-

Plan your strategies, select a good coaching institute,
and then drop for a year.
    Prepare in a systematic way.
Learn the basic concepts and then learn to apply them.
Practise as much as you can.
Prepare for IIT JEE level so that you can atleast crach AIEEE or some other state level
    engineering entrance.
You should be confident enough before taking this decision,
otherwise you are only going to waste your time and money.

by this you will get the best college in India for the b.tech.
    so best of luck.

There will not be and should not be particular time for the engineering students to prepare for the engineering competitive exams like GATE IES etc.so you must prepare with the perfect concepts and basics in the engineering so that it will be very helpful in the examination and also you can get in to govt colleges if you get good score in the competitive exams in the engineering.
