Satyajit Ray Film & Television Institute (SRFTI) Entrance Exam

Satyajit Ray Film & Television Institute offers Post Graduate diploma courses in cinema. The three year course is offered with specialization in streams of direction & screenplay, cinematography, audiography, and editing. Admission to this course is done on the basis of entrance test conducted by the institute itself.

Structure and Pattern of Satyajit Ray Film & Television Institute (SRFTI) Entrance Exam

There will be two papers for the entrance exam, Paper I and Paper II. Paper I include questions on General Knowledge and Mental Aptitude. General Knowledge questions will be asked from areas of art, culture, society and people. Time allotted for completion of the session is 1 hour. Paper II is designed in such a way as to evaluate candidate’s skill in specialized areas such as:

• Direction & Screenplay writing
• Cinematography
• Editing
• Sound Recording & Design
• Production Methodology

Candidate need to complete paper II with in time period of 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Eligibility Criteria for Satyajit Ray Film & Television Institute (SRFTI) Entrance Exam

Basic qualification required for attending the test is graduation in any discipline. But for Sound Recording & Design course, graduation must be obtained with Physics and Mathematics at +2 levels.

Application Procedure of Satyajit Ray Film & Television Institute (SRFTI) Entrance Exam

Application forms can be downloaded from the official website of SRFTI. This must be carefully filled and must be submitted to the address of the Director of the institute. Filled up application forms must be send along with demand draft for application fee, attested copy of mark sheets, and passport size photographs. Collective charges for application processing as well as entrance exam expenses amounts to Rs. 2000/-. This must be paid in the form of DD drawn in favor of Satyajit Ray Film & Television Institute.
