To get admission in government medical college you must get minimum 80% aggregate marks in 10+2 from a recognised school/board with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as subjects. In private colleges you might get a seat with 65% aggregate marks as well, if you pay an astronomical amount as capitation/donation. In almost all the private or government medical colleges for the session 2012 the maximum course fees for MBBS was Rs. 6.7 lakh (excluding donation).

Re: Required percentage for admission into MBBS course?

    Hi there,
Since you have particularly asked for MBBS courses, let me tell you, you cannot be selected for MBBS courses unless you clear your state level or national level medical joint entrance examinations. If you sit and clear the subjects like Physics, Biology and Chemistry in the joint examination and thus pass in every subject, then you have a chance in coming in the merit list. Now not only passing will help you, as lot of students will pass. You have to be in the top levels marks along with that of other students' marks.
Now when the final list is made, only those who have scored high after definitely passing in each subject will make it to the final list of around 2000-2500 students. This list may become less depending on the students passing in the subjects. After that when you have got a valid joint score, you go for the counseling procedure. There you have to wait until your rank gets the chance and then you need to see which all colleges are vacant and apply accordingly. I hope you could understand the procedure.

You can get admission in MBBS courses in any college through NEET examination.

NEET: National Eligibility cum Entrance Test

This has replaced CBSE AIPMT and several other medical entrance examination.

It is conducted by CBSE in the month of May every year.

    Eligibility:

    >> Minimum 50# marks in +2 with PCB
    >> 5% relaxation for SC/ST students
    >> Passed in English

Hence, you need to get at least 50% in +2 or equivalent state level exams to join MBBS course.
