Re: Qualifications required to become an English Lecturer?

Your aim to become an English lecturer is really good. You must possess postgraduate qualification in English to get in to such jobs. The qualification is enough to teach in private colleges or in government colleges on temporary basis. However, to get in to the permanent position of Lecturer, you must pass NET examination. The exam is carried out by UGC. The candidate should possess minimum 55% marks in PG to attend the exam. NET qualified candidate can expect lucrative salary packages also. Also there is an option of completing Ph.D and then applying for the lecturership post after post graduation.

    HI dear,

You can apply in any university for the post of Asst. Professor

and as you also have the teaching experience you will get the

priority over the other candidates applying for the same post.

Also there is no need to appear for NET examination as it is generally

given by the students to apply for Ph.D. degree which you already

    have.

Re: Qualifications required to become an English Lecturer?

    Hello friend,
As you want to become an English Lecturer, so you must have to complete your graduation and postgraduation with Arts stream. After 12th you have to do B.A. in english. Then you can do M.A. and then you can appear in NET (National Eligibility Test) conducting by UGC. After clearing this exam you become eligible to become English Lecturer in various colleges.

If you want to become English teacher in schools then you can do B.Ed(Bachelor of Education) after B.A. in english. B.Ed is one year course after graduation. After doing B.Ed you can get jobs in schools as a teacher.
