    Hi friend,

    The aim of this course is to study history subject with deep and thorough study to gain the knowledge. M.A is master of ARTS and post graduate course for mastering arts stream. Duration of course is minimum of two years and can have maximum of four years.

    Eligibility for MA course
    • Candidate should have passed BA course from any recognized university or equivalent.
    • Candidate should have secured minimum 45% marks in above.
    • Candidate who have completed BA Ed or Ancient History and Archaeology are also eligible for BA course.

    M.A stands for Master's in arts and After this course a student can teach in colleges as
    a profeesor.This course is of duration of 2 years and divided into four semesters.The basic eligibility criteria for M.A is a candidate should have graduation degree or in the final year of the degree.

    The subjects in all the four semesters are:

    FIRST SEMESTER(Foundation Course):

    1) Introduction to the History of Indian Art
    2) Introduction to Museology
    3) Introduction to Conservation Science
    4) Art History: Historiography & Methodology

    SECOND SEMESTER:

    1) Early Indian Art
    2) Ancient Art of Egypt & Mesopotamia
    3) Architecture & Sculpture of Early Medieval North India
    4) Indian Architecture (High Medieval Period)
    5) Buddhist Art of Central Asia

    THIRD SEMESTER:

    1) Greek Art
    2) Imperial Art of Rome to Proto-Renaissance
    3) Architecture & Sculpture of South India (c. 6th-13th A.D.)
    4) Art of Renaissance
    5) Art of South & Southeast Asia

    FOURTH SEMESTER:


    1) Indian Painting
    2) Modern Art in India
    3) Aesthetics and Art Theory
    4) Art of China & Japan
    5) Tribal & Folk Arts of India

    In addition to 13 taught courses, the students must complete two Seminars and one Dissertation on specific areas of research interest under the guidance of the faculty members.
