    i am an ias aspirant . i want as much knowledge as i could get about ias. actually i need help in making my dream come true . that's why i want to know about ias entrance exams.

    Date of Notification - 19/Feb/2011
    Last Date for Receipt of Applications - 21/Mar/2011
    Date of Exam - 12/June/2011.
    So, if you are interested to apply for civil services examination, then please apply for this exams before 21st/March/2011.
    After completing this dates, You can not apply for IAS 2011 Examinations.
    -Eligibility Criteria For IAS
    (i) Age limits :
    21-30 years as on 1.7.2011. (Upper age limit relaxable for SCs/STs, OBCs and certain other categories as specified in Para 3(ii) of Notice).
    (ii) Educational Qualifications :
    Bachelor’s degree of a recognised university with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physcs, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Enginerring or an equivalent qualification (Para 3(iii) of Notice).

    (iii) No. of permissible attempts :
    Four (Seven attemps of OBCs and no limit for SCs/STs (Para 3 (iv) of Notice)
    (iv) Fee :
    Rs. 100/- (Rupees one hundred only)

    IAS exam is conducted every year by UPSC in three stages:-
    1.Preliminary (CSAT)
    2.Mains
    3.Interview.

    To appear in this,a candidate must must hold a bachelor's degree from a recognised university with at least 55 %.

    The age should be between 21-30 years.

    Maximum age limit:-
    1.General candidates-30 years
    2.OBC candidates-33 years
    3.SC/ST candidates-35 years

    Maximum number of attempts that a candidate can take:-
    1.General candidate-4
    2.OBC candidate-7
    3.SC/ST-No limit.

    The entrance exam for the IAS is called the Civil Service Preliminary Exams. This is only the first level exam for entrance into the IAS. Once you have cleared the prelims you have to appear in the Mains exams and then appear for an interview. The Prelims is a qualifying exam where as the total score of mains and prelims decide the actual results. Only double the required number of candidates are called for interview based on their mains exams.

    IAS stands for Indian administrative services for which entrance exam conducted by UPSC. The minimum eligibility required for it is graduation degree from recognized university. The candidate must be physically fit according to the rules and regulation of the civil services, one can attempt as many times as they want but should satisfy the eligibility criteria.

    Hello friend,
    to be eligible for IAS entrance exam, you should complete your graduation in any stream or any course with minimum 55% from a good recognized university.... here age limitation is 21 years to 30years to be eligible for IAS entrance exam...
    you first you have to complete your graduation and then have to pass IAS entrance exam to become an IAS officer...

    first Wish you all the best for your aspirant.
    In the IAS there have 3 exams for become the IAS officers. This exam is conducted by the union public service commission.
    the first is CSAT exam:
    In this exam the course is
    General Knowledge
    reigning
    aptitude
    the candidate should be only passing marks in this exam
    After completing this exam the candidate enter in the second or main exam
    In this exam the subjects will be choose which is offered by the upsc subjects lists & one is English papers this is descriptive or easy type papers
    In the last the candidate clear this exam. He called for the interview. After the interview candidate become the IAS officers.

    eligibility education criteria :-

    Graduate and Candidates appearing for Degree qualification are also eligible for appearing in the examination,
    however they are supposed to submit proof of passing the requisite qualification along with with Detailed Application Form for Civil Services (Main) Examination.

    He/She should be 21years to 30 yrs of age at the time of appearing.

    A general candidate can attempt 4 times only.

    Where as OBC can attempt 7 times.

    And no limit for SCs/STs.

    For 2012 you can expect around the same dates and for that you can refer www.upsc.gov.in for further detail and to apply..

    This time UPSC pattern is changed and it is called as CSAT which is coming into effect from Civil Services Examination, 2011.and so there is no option subjects...


    It consits of two paper and each paper of Two hrs..


    Paper 1:-
    marks:-200 marks)

    Consists of:-
    History
    Geography
    Indian Polity and governance
    Economic and social development
    & General science.

    Paper II:-

    Indian Administrative Services(IAS) exam is conducted by UPSC.It is conducted in three stages i.e Preliminary,Main and Interview.You need to pass all the three stages in order to become an IAS officer.
    The eligibility for IAS exam is as follows:
    -Bachelor's degree from a recognized university.
    -Age limit: 21-30yrs.

    Syllabus:
    1)Preliminary exam-It consist of 2 papers i.e General Studies and Optional subject.Each paper will be of 2hrs.
    2)Main exam-It consist of 9 papers in all i.e one of the Indian languages, English, Essay GK and Current Affairs: 2 papers on general studies Optionals: papers from two subjects that fall in optional-1 and two papers from optional-2.Each paper will be of 3hrs.

    A degree of any of the Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be a Deemed University under the UGC Act, 1956, or an equivalent qualification.

    Age Limit :
    You must have attained 21 years and not be over 30 years on August 1 of the year of examination.

    Nationality:
    Only Indian nationals are eligible for IAS and IPS.

    my friend IAS is one of the civil engg posts in the indian govt...also after getting through this exam u get directly placed as a high rank officer in the indian govt...

    also to become eligible for that u have to just pass your graduation and the best thing is that anyone from any discipline may it be science, arts or commerce are eligible to apply just after getting their degree and there is no 5 age requirement which makes the IAS the worlds most difficult entrance exam....also u have to be a 21 years male or a female while writing this exam...

    also it is held in three sections the prelim exam, main and the interview step by step in order...

    to become an IAS officer, candidates should have to first complete their 12th class and then graduation and then have to pass IAS entrance exam which is held by upsc...
    the eligibility criteria to be eligible to apply for IAS entrance exam are:
    -the candidates can choose any stream in their 12th class...
    -the candidates must be completed graduation in any courses or stream with minimum 55%..
    -the age limit to be eligible is between 21years to 30years...
    -you should also have a physically capability ...

    so for IAS preparation, you should have to get more and more general knowledge and all issues related to the nation...

    IAS(Indian administrative Services) conducted by UPSC(Union Public Services Examination) to the civil services.
    The civil services Examination(CSE) is conducted every year by UPSC for the recruitments in various services like IAS,IPS,IFS,Group A and Group B:Central
    services.

    you should have attain the age of 21 years and should not be over 30 years(relaxation for SC/ST is 5 years and 3 years for OBC)
    the application form is available in head post offices/post offices after the notification which will be published in all leading news papers including Employement News.

    The selection process will include:

    Preliminary:this consists of two papers.one is optional subject of marks 300 and the other is general studies of marks 150

    Mains:after the prelims there are two optional subjects in the mains which carries 300 marks each and for each optional will have two papers total together is 1200 marks and one general studies consists of two papers each carries 300 marks other than this you will be having two language papers one is Indian languages and the other is 10th English paper.

    Interview:this includes 300 marks.

    note:If you fail in mains or interview round you have appear from the prelims again if you are interested.

    Indian administrative services is a civil service.It is good that you had decided your aim and goal.To become a ias officer is not so easy but not too tough for those who are real ias aspirants.Well Ias exam is conducucted by UPSC every year by taking various tests.Tests as preliminary and mains test.Every bachelor degree course students can apply for ias after completing there course.If you want to get a victory in ias race so you have to workhard especialy in your graduation specialization syllabus.You must be aware of current afairs. Eligiblity-Eligiblity for ias is required that a candidate must be graduate from a ugc recognized university.Age limit is 21-30 years of age.Total attempts for general category students is 4, 7 for obc.

    Details for IAS:

    IAS is one of the Indian Civil Service exam and this exam is conducted by UPSC(Union Public Service Commission).This exam is conducted every year.To know about this exam this exam is mainly conducted for candidates to join in for the post of IAS officer and for joining in for the post you need to write the IAS exam and for writing the exam you need to satisfy the eligibility criteria.

    The candidates are selected for the post of IAS through:

    • Preliminary Exam
    • Main Exam
    • Interview


    It is a step by step process as you need to pass both the preliminary and the Main exam to be eligible to attend the interview.

    As regarding the eligibility criteria for the IAS exam it is:

    > Candidate who is appearing for the IAS exam must be a citizen of India.

    Age limits:

    > The candidates must have a age limit of 21-30 years for General Category.

    > For SC/ST candidates it is 21-35 years.

    INDIAN CIVIL SERVICES which plays an important role in our CONSTITUTION forms a mojor back bone of our government. It controls all the major departments in the state and also at central.

    The civil services exam conducted by UPSC every year for the young talented Indians. civil services exam is popularly known as IAS ( INDIAN ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES ) or UPSC ( UNION PUBLIC SERVICE EXAM ) considered as one of the toughest exams in INDIA.

    The examination mainly consists of 3 phases.
    1. Preliminary held in the month of MAY.

    ELIGIBILITY :

    Educational qualification :

    The person must hold a degree from any university according to the act of the central and state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by the act of parliament or declared to be a deemed university by University grants commission act 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification.

    Generally the maximum number of attempts to write the examination for
    1. General candidates is 3 times.
    2. other backward candidates is 7 attempts
    3. SC / ST candidates no restriction.

    Age limits :

    A candidate must have attained an age of 21 years and an age of 30 years on AUG 1st at the time of the examination.
    Upper age limit will be relaxed in the following cases

    - SC / ST maximum of 5 years.

    It is very good to see that you want to become an IAS officer and want to serve the Nation.

    To apply for the IAS you have to appear for the Civil Service Examination conducted by the UPSC.

    The examination is conducted in two steps:-Preliminary Examination and Main examination.

    After qualifying in the Preliminary examination you will be eligible to appear in the Main examination.

    The eligibility criteria to apply for the examination is that the candidate must be a graduate in any stream from a recognized institution and age of the candidate must be between 21-30 years.

    This year these exams are already over.Notification for the Next Civil Service Examination will come out in the month of February next year in the Employment News and all the leading dailies.

    Hi friend, The I.A.S exam is conducted in yearly basis by U.P.S.C and it has three stages:-
    1.Preliminary (CSAT)
    2.Mains
    3.Interview.
    To appear for the exam, the candidate must have completed bachelor's degree in any of the groups from a recognised university with at least 55 %.
    And the candidate's age must be between 21-35 years.
    Maximum age limit for the candidate's basing on there caste:-
    1.General candidates-30 years
    2.OBC candidates-33 years
    3.SC/ST candidates-35 years
    Maximum number of attempts, A candidate can take:-
    1.General candidate-4
    2.OBC candidate-7
    3.SC/ST-No limit.

    Its good to see you that you are interested in The civil service i.e. you are interested in the IAS.
    To become an IAS officer you have to apply for the civil service examination which is conducted by the UPSC.The examination is conducted once a year and any graduates students can apply for the exam if you satisfy the other eligibility criteria for the exam.

    ELIGIBIILTY FOR IAS ARE AS FOLLOW :

    candidate should be qualified in under graduation in any stream with 60% percentage from recognized university .

    candidate age should be 21 to 30 years and relaxation relation period is given to the candidates like sc/sc candidate for 5years and obc candidate for 3 years and handicapped and widow candidate for 10 years .

    general candidates eligible to write the attempt for 4 times and obc and other backward candidates for 7 times and there is no limit of sc/st candidate .

    Dear friend,
    IAS(Indian Administrative Service) is the best job if you want to serve your country and want to have a good lifestyle. After clearing IAS you will become a district commisioner.

    For IAS only limited seats are available every year around 100.For that 100 seats you have to compete with around 2 lakhs candidates.Before starting the preparation for IAS you to be make sure what you really want.

    You have to apply for CSAT exam conducted by UPSC ,to become a IAS.CSAT is conducted every year.

    If you want to start IAS preparation then first you should know that its a difficult process,people left it in mid way.first you have to have a lot of patience,do hard work and be determine.Only then you can achieve which you want.

    For IAS you have to select two subjects which you like the most,among the subjects list specified by UPSC.
    You have to prepare two subjects very deeply.other than that you have to prepare for general knowledge,aptitude,logical reasoning for Pre exam.

    Eligibility for CSAT:

    1.You must be at least 21 years of age at the time of filling the Civil Services (Preliminary) Exam form and not more than 30 years of age,33 for OBCs and 35 for SCs/STs

    2.Four attempts for open, seven for OBCs and no limit for SCs/STs.

    3.You should have a graduate degree from any college which is recognized by UGC, or possess an equivalent qualification.

    4.If you are in the final semester or have taken their final degree exam but are awaiting the results can also appear for the IPS Preliminary examination provided they furnish their proof of degree while filling the Mains form.


    Procedure is follows:

    1.In pre exam two papers will be there,each of two hours a) General studies and b)Optional subject.Objective type questions will be asked.

    2.Main paper comprises of 9 papers,each of three hours.One of the Indian languages,2 papers on general studies ,2 papers on option-1 and 2 papers on optional-2.

    3. In the end interview will be there.

    4.Merit list will be out.

    Important dates:

    1.The prelims will be held around May-June.

    2.The main written examination usually takes place in Oct-Nov.

    3.Interview will take place in the month of April-May.
