    Presidency College, Kolkata

    The Presidency College was set up in the year 1817 with a view to provide modern education to all students in India. The college was formerly known as Hindu College. In 1855, the college was legitimately established and it came under direct Government control. It is one of the well-known Science colleges in India. The college is located in Kolkata. It is an institution with NAAC A+ accreditation and it offers various Under graduate as well as Post graduate courses for both boys and girls.

    Admission Process in Presidency College

    For getting admitted in the college, one should have passed the qualifying examination. Application forms will be issued by the way of online and offline modes. Those choosing the online mode can download the application forms from the College Official website. The forms can also be obtained on hand from the Principal’s office by remitting the required application fee. The duly filled in application forms should be submitted to the respective departments of the college. Also, one can apply only for a maximum of two subjects. The aspirants should attend a preliminary screening test, followed by an admission test, prior to admission.

    Infrastructure of Presidency College

    The college has an extensive campus with greenery around which provides fresh and calm atmosphere for studies. It has separate buildings for various departments. The college has a spacious library, which is occupied with books on related subjects, magazines, journals, etc. There is an experimental garden, which is being laid by the Botany Department. In addition, the college has a playground, where there are specially built football and basketball courts. The college also provides separate hostels for girls and boys.
