Re: Is it possible to take M.Tech in Nano Technology after completing B.Tech in Instrumentation Engineering?

    Hi Buddy,

The answer to your question is "YES"

M.Tech Stands for Master of Technology

After completion of your B.Tech you are eligible to pursue M.Tech, M.tech generally to a specialization in a field of study of your interest, there is no rule as such that u should not take a field that you have not studied. In physics Nano Technology is the latest trend which is out blowing the scientists with the inventions.

For getting admission into M. Tech with the specified Nano Technology you have check whether there are colleges that have this course as specialization course.

The colleges which provide Nano Technology as specialization are

    Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore.
    Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur
    Indian Institute of Technology, Chennai
    Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati
    Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi
    Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai.
National Institute of Technology (NIT), Rourkela( Orissa )
National Institute of Technology (NIT), Kurukshetra( Haryana )
Indian Institute of Science : Center of Excellence in Nanoelectronics (CEN), Bangalore
Jawaharlal Nehru Center for Advanced Scientific Research, Bangalore.
University of Madras : School of Physical Science, Guindy( Tamil Nadu )
Defence Materials Store Research & Development Organizations, kanpur.

After completion of M.Tech in Nanotechnology you'll have to choose your career only on that as you have mastered that course, but if you are interested in Instrumentation you can shift to that side as well.

You will find many opportunities after your M.Tech if you choose Research side some of the research institutes are

    1. ISRO
    2. BARC
    3. DRDO
    4. DRDL

Nano technology is used in our day to day life so it will be our future an interesting course, i hope you fulfill your dreams and achieve higher in your career.

    All the best.

    The course includes:

2 years full time M.Tech Nano Technology course
M.Sc Degree course in Nano Sciences/ Industrial Nano Sciences/ Nano Medical Sciences

But these courses are not much developed in India and very few colleges are offering the courses like

Amity Institute of Nano Technology - Noida, Jaipur
National Institute of Technology - Calicut
Jamia Millia Islamia, Department of Physics - Delhi
Indian Institute of Technology - Roorkee
Vellore Institute of Technology - Chennai
    Anna University - Coimbatore
University of Delhi, Department of Astro Physics - Delhi
    Bharathiar University - Coimbatore
    Periyar University - Thanjavur
    SRM University - Chennai
Birla Institute of Technology - Ranchi
Amrita Institute of Medicinal Sciences - Kochi

After the completion of the course you can employment in sectors like biotechnology, agriculture, food and genetics, space research, medicines, in various institutes like Indian Institute of Astro Physics, National Physical laboratory etc.

So friend as the future is for Nano Technology by doing the course you will be getting a good job scopes i hope in India, so go for it or else you can get good opportunities if you for abroad.
