No, you can't get admission in M.tech course of NIT Rourkela. To get admission in M.Tech course of NIT rourkela one must have appeared in GATE exam and must have secured very good marks. Without having GATE score one can't get admission in NIT.

Sorry but you can't get admission this year, But don't loose hope do prepare for GATE 2012. You can give GATE exam next year and can take admission in NIT Rourkela M.Tech civil next year.

Most of the NITs prefer Gate score for an admission.
You may try any management quota seats if available at Nit Rourkela.

In order to get admission in NIT Rourkela for M.Tech Civil, you must score at least 96 percentile in GATE exam(which means very good rank).
Without appearing GATE,you can't get into NIT for M.Tech. So

if you are asking for NIT rourkela for Computer Science than you cannot take admission there without GATE. you can get any other college. Why not appear for GATE, you will get scholarship too.
Forms will come out in september and exam will held on second sunday of February.

If you take admission in NIT Rourkela then it is not possible without GATE score card. So do the preparation of GATE and get good percentile. If you take admission in any renowned institute, you have need of GATE score card also.

No it's not possible to get admission in NIT Rourkela for M.Tech civil without appearing GATE Entrance exam .
If you want to take admission in NIT then you will have to appear in GATE . You can get other colleges
instead of NIT . In private colleges you will get direct admission without appearing in GATE .
But if you want to complete your M.Tech from government colleges you will have to taken GATE
Entrance exam .So my dear friend you won't get admission in NIT Rourkela . Best of luck .

NO,you can't get admission in NIT Rourkela without appearing in GATE. Even to get admission in NIT Rourkela you have to score minimum 95 percentile in GATE.
Why you don't want to appear in GATE, it is not as difficult as IIT ,it also have less competiton then IIT.
ONE more advantage to get admission through GATE is that you get stipend.
So prepare for GATE...and achieve your dream

To take admission into any of the NITs or the IITs you need to qualify the GATE(graduate aptitude test in engineering)

you should first have to score above 95 to appear in the same.....

NIT/iit are demandable........which don't sell out their seats soo you should have too crak GATe...

GATE(GRADUATE APTITUDE TEST FOR ENGINEERS)
This is the main exam which a graduate should take to get into his post graduation. So NIT is one of the best for M.Tech Civil but to get into that you should get good marks in GATE around 34 out of 100. So without appearing for GATE you cant get into the NIT for persuing the M.Tech

There's no way you can get a NIT seat without appearing in GATE. You can't get a seat and moreover there will not be any management quota seats available in NIT's.

You need to write GATE and get a better rank under 1000 then you'll have a chance of NIT's. Try at least next year if you want to study in NIT's or else do in ordinary colleges, no option otherwise GATE-Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering is the entrance exam which is conducted by IIT'S every year to take admissions into top colleges if you get a good rank.

Question paper pattern for GATE :
Q.1 to Q.25: Will carry one mark each (sub-total 25 marks). 1/3 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.
Q.26 to Q.55: Will carry two marks each (sub-total 60 marks) 2/3 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.
Q.48 through Q.51 (2 pairs) will be common data questions. Each question will carry two marks 2/3 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.
Question pairs (Q.52, Q.53) and (Q.54, Q.55) will be linked answer questions.
The answer to the second question of the last two pairs will depend on the answer to the first question of the pair.
If the first question in the linked pair is wrongly answered or is un-attempted, then the answer to the second question in the pair will not be evaluated. Each question will carry two marks
There will be negative marks only for wrong answer to the first question of the linked answer question pair i.e. for Q.52 and Q.54, 2/3 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer. There is no negative marking for Q.53 and Q.55.
Q.56 to Q.60 : From General Aptitude (GA) will carry one mark each (sub-total 5 marks). 1/3 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.
Q.61 to Q.65 : From GA will carry two marks each (sub-total 10 marks) 2/3 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.
