Re: Is it possible to become IAS after completing 10+2?

Sorry it is not at all possible to become an IAS directly after completing higher secondary. But you can apply as well as appear for this exam
after completing your graduation. This is a great way to service our nation and some of the brightest people who really have the potential to
work for the nation are selected for this great position. For the purpose of becoming an IAS, you need to appear for CSE(Civil services examination)
and after that you would be allotted a position for example IAS, IES, IRS, etc according to the overall performance of the candidate during the whole procedure.

The procedure to become an IAS can be explained as follows:
    1)Preliminary examination-
Firstly you have to appear for the preliminary examination. This is an objective examination and all those candidates who are able to clear this
stage are allowed to move to the next level.

    2)Mains examination:
This is the second level in the procedure. This is an subjective examination in which you would be allowed to select subjects according to your
preference. Many students select subjects that they have already studied during their graduation as they feel that they have a good understanding of these subjects.

3)The third level is the personal interview process. You are allowed to choose the language(that is either hindi or english)
in which would be required to appear for the interview.

Not possible why because.? right now your qualification is intermediate completed you have only 12th standard certificate, i think your age will be Seventeen(17) or Eighteen(18) Years your in just teen age.But the age limit for writing IAS Exam is Twenty One(21) to Thirty(30) Years. You should be in the Age of 21 Years and below 30 Years till the Examination of August. And another important thing is you should definitely have the degree certificate and should be passed in all the subjects before the Exam.

    Hi..
IAS is Indian Administrative Service. To pursue this you must complete your Graduation. So, 10+2 itself is not eligible. Therefore take up a graduation from any university & it should be recognized by UGC. While you are in the Final Year awaiting for your results you can take up the Preliminary Exam. For appearing the mains you should produce the final year marks card.
You should be minimum 21 years of age at the time of filling the Prelims form and not more than 30 years for General category. For OBC between 21 and 33 years of age. For SC/ST between 21 and 35 years of age. If you belong to general category the maximum attempts will be 4. For OBC it would be 7. For SC/ST there is no limit on attempts. Work hard from now.

    Hi,
The two min eligibility requirements for filling IAS form is...
    GRADUATE from any recognized university
    min 21 yrs of age.

Since you have qualification of only 10+2, i would recommend..
Do a graduation course with subjects helpful in IAS exam.
Start preparing from first yr of graduation only.
It will give you an edge over others.

    Best of luck..

Re: Is it possible to become IAS after completing 10+2?

    Minimum education criteria = Graduate
Maximum age criteria = 28yrs (for General category and I think it is 32 years for SC/ ST categories)
You have to apply for UPSC (Union Public Services Commission) exam. Notification for the same is done by the Govt.Gazette and in the Employement New and Rozgar Yojana news papers (available on weekly basis in newstands).

Once you apply, you have to take the Prelims exam in a subject of your choice and General Knowledge. This is a subjective paper. Once you get through the Prelims, you have to write the Main Exam (again subjective), but you have to choose 2 main subjects (eg. Physics and Political Science etc).

After you clear the Main exam, you need to take the Group Discussion and then the interview.

Based on the overall ranking and your choice of cadre, you will be provided IFS (Indian Foreign Service), IAS or IPS. The higher your rank, the choice is with you.

In case you have not not got a good rank and got into IFS, IAS or IPS, you may still become a Group A or B officer in the Central Govt.

    All the best!
