THE BEST OPTION TO STUDY ENGINEERING COURSES IS YOU MUST HAVE COMPLETED THE 10+2 EXAMINATIONS.

BECAUSE IT GIVES THE RIGHT PATH TO ENGINEERING AND ALL THE BASIC FUNDAMENTALS.

DIPLOMA IS JUST AN UTTER WASTE

    Hello friend,

Between Diploma and 12th,12th will be the best option as it has many advantags over diploma.

You can go for engineering or either any degree course.

But after Diploma you can not join to any other courses.

    Hi Friend,

If you want to do only Engineering , the Best option is 10+3(Diploma) between 10+2(Intermediate) and 10+3(Diploma) .

But 10+2 is not a bad option either , In both cases you have to appear for Engineering Entrance Exam like AIEEE,IIT-JEE, othe State Entrance Exams, LEET etc

List of engineering entrance exams you can appear for

University of Petroleum and Energy studies,Dehradun

Indian School of Mines Dhanbad entrance examination

    Goa Common Entrance Test

    National Entrance Screening Test

B.S. Abdur Rahman University Engineering Entrance Examination

West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (JEM 2012)

Manipal University Engineering Entrance Test 2012

BITS admission Test (BITSAT) Online Entrance Test for admission to Engineering and other Courses Birla Institute of Science & Technology

Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology

    Amrita Engineering Entrance Examination

North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology (NERIST) entrance examination (NEE)-2012

GGS Indraprastha University Common Entrance Test

Cool Re: Which option is best between 10+2(Intermediate) and 10+3(Diploma) if I want to do Engineering in a top rated institute?

    Hi friend,

If you really want to join a top rated Engineering college in future, then I strongly recommend you to join 11th class after completing your 10Th standard instead of doing Diploma course.

After Diploma you will have choices of less number of reputed Engineering Colleges.Whereas, after completing 12Th you will be eligible for all reputed Engineering Colleges of India.

Eligibility conditions for Engineering course on the basis of 12th:

    • 12Th must be completed by you from recognized Education Board.
    • 12Th must be completed by you in Non-Medical stream with Physics,Chemistry and Mathematics as important subjects.
    • 12Th must be completed by you with a minimum of 40% marks.

Most prestigious Engineering Colleges after 12th:

    IIT Kanpur.

    IIT Kharagpur.

    IIT Bombay,Mumbai.

    IIT Madras,Chennai.

    IIT Roorkee.

    IT Banaras Hindu University,Varanasi.

    IIT Guwahati.

Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani.

    Delhi Technological University.

    NIT,Tiruchirapalli.

Most prestigious Engineering Colleges for Diploma students:

    Delhi Engineering College,Delhi.

    Thapar University,Patiala.

    IP University,Delhi.

    Indira Gandhi National Open University,Delhi.

    Punjabi University,Patiala.

    Punjab University,Chandigarh.

    Government College of Engineering,Pune.

    Amity University,Noida.

    Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College,Ludhiana.

    KIITS University,Orissa.

Sant Longoval Institute of Engineering and Technology,Sangrur.

    Chitkara University,Chandigarh.

As you see,Diploma students cannot apply for admission in IITs and NITs whereas 12Th students can. So,you must complete your 12Th first and then go for Engineering Entrance exams and try to score a good rank in order to get admission in reputed Engineering Institutes of our country.

    Engineering Entrance Exams in India:

    • IIT-JEE.
    • AIEEE.
    • State CETs.
    • BITSAT.

The higher rank you will score in these Entrance tests, the better College you will get.

    All the best.

Re: Which option is best between 10+2(Intermediate) and 10+3(Diploma) if I want to do Engineering in a top rated institute?

    Hi Buddy,

Each and every course will be having it's own advantages as well as disadvantages so let me first explain you how your future will be by selecting any of the two options.

    Diploma :

By opting out for diploma you will be eligible to join Engineering in 2nd year as lateral entry student. After which you can opt out for Post Graduation in

    M.Tech or
    M.B.A

    Intermediate or 12th Standard :

By choosing intermediate you will be having plenty of options to join after your 12th standard some of them are

    B.Tech (Engineering)
    B.A/ B.Sc/ B.Com (Degree)
    Hotel Management
    Banking
    Air Force
    Navy
    Indian Army

But since you are interested in joining B.Tech in reputed college by selecting diploma you have less chances of getting into Reputed colleges, if you choose Intermediate then you can apply for entrance exams after intermediate such as

    IIT-JEE
    AIEEE
    EAMCET
    VITEE

Obtaining good rank means that you will be able to join into any of the reputed colleges.

In my opinion i would suggest to go with +2 studies rather than going only for Diploma. With +2 education you will have lot of options to get admission into Reputed Engineering colleges, when compared with Diploma. Make a wise decision and select a better future option.

    All the best.

    >B.PHARMA
    >BIOTECH
    >B.ARCH
    >B.SC
