Availability of Application Forms: last week of May to third week of the month of June, 2011

Last Date for hard copy submission: fourth week of June, 2011

DRDO SET (scientist eligibility Test) is conducted across India on 1st Sunday of September every. year

The Notification appears during the month of April / May every year.

Duration of Examination is three hours..

Eligibility :-

• - At least first class Master's Degree in Science Subjects, Mathematics or Psychology or First Class Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Technology
  or
  
  - Metallurgy from a recognised University or equivalent.
  
  
• - Experience of at least 3 years for Scientist 'C', 7 years for Scientist 'D', 10 years for Scientist 'E', 13 years for Scientist 'F' and 15 years for Scientist 'G' in research/ design/ development or production in the required area.
  
  
• - The age limit is 28 years.
  
  
• - Upper age relaxation is provided for SC/ST/OBC students from 5 yrs to 3 yrs.

Examination paper Consisting of two sections -

1. Section 'A'
   
   Various subjects in which exam is conducted...
   
   • Aero,
   • Civil,
   • Electrical,
   • Chemical,
   • Computer,
   • Electronics/Electronics & Communication,
   • Instrumentation,
   • Mechanical,
   • Metallurgy etc and
   • Science subjects such as Chemistry,
   • Physics and Maths/ Operations Research/ Statistics etc
   
   - consisting 100 questions to test the candidate's knowledge in the subject of their BE/ BTech (for Engg discipline) or MSc ( for Science Discipline) and
   
   
2. Section 'B'
   
   - consisting 50 questions to test the candidate's ability in analytical and qualitative skills, current affairs and general awareness to test the aptitude and scientific knowledge required for Applied Research & Development.
