Re: Am I eligible for IES entrance examination if I Once had a Backlog which I cleared in the next supplementary examination? yes friend you are eligible for IES exam if you have completed your engineering course. no problem about history of arrears while you attend IES you should have completed the BE. eligibility for IES: Academic:should have bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Electronics & Communications Engineering Civil Engineering Mechanical Engineering (students of final year Engineering or equivalent degree are also eligible) Age:not less than 21 years and not more than 30 years( upper age limit relaxation available for SCs/STs,OBCs and certain others ) Gud Luck

Well yes you are eligible for the examination .B]IES i.e Indian Engineering Services [/B] is conducted by UPSC for recruitment to the Indian Engineering Services (IES). Eligibility for the examination is :: You must have got engineering degree with at least 60% marks from the recognized university in the following streams :: Civil Engineering Mechanical Engineering Electrical Engineering Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering If you have 60% in the degree then surely you are eligible for the examination but you should not have any backlogs at the time of taking the exams. You should be between 21 to 30 years and there is some relaxation given to reserved caste students in upper age limit.For SC/ST its of 5 years and 3 years for OBC students . Pattern of the examination Part I—It consist of two sections:: Section I ::is of objective types Section II ::is of conventional papers. Part II—Its a personality test carrying a maximum of 200 marks . Hi friend, Yes your eligible for IES entrance examination if you Once had a Backlog which you cleared in the next supplementary examination. According to eligibility criteria student should have degree in technical course from any recognized university. Eligiblility for IES entrance examination You must have a degree in technical course from a recognized university. If You have appeared for final year examination and waiting for result can also apply for IES entrance examination. Good Luck..!!

This is provided you fulfill all the eligibility criteria. First of all you should have pursued the engineering stream. Only candidates who have specialised in electrical, electronics, mechanical and civil are allowed to apply. Also the candidate should not be over 30 years at the time of applying. So if you satisfy these criteria you can apply for the same. The application forms for this exam is currently available till 29th August. The exam is scheduled for 3rd December.

Friend, Yes you are eligible to appear for the IES examiantions nut you should not have any backlog while joining or during the exams.If you have cleared the backlog then it's good and you are eligible to appear for the IES Entrance Examinations. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: 1)A candidate must hold an engineering degree from any recognized university and must have scored atleast 60% marks Aggregate.The degree should be in following fields. a)MECHANICAL ENGINEERING b)CIVIL ENGINEERING c)ELECTRONICS AND TELECOMMUNICATION d)ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING. 2)Nationality : A candidate must be either : a. A citizen of India, or b. A subject of Nepal, or c. A subject of Bhutan, or d. A Tibetan refugee who came over to Indian before the 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or e. A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka or East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia or from Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India. 3)AGE CRITERIA: A candidate mush have attained the age of 21 years on 1st august of that year and should not be more than 30 years of age. Three and five years of relaxation in age is given to OBC and SC/ST candidates. 4)PHYSICAL FITNESS: Candidates must be physically fit according to physical standards for admission to Engineering Services Examination, 2011 The test will be conducted in two sections: SECTION 1: OBJECTIVE TEST General Ability Test Part A: General English Part B: General Studies Engineering Paper I 2 hrs for 200 marks (of respective branches specified above).
