    Dear friend
My friend if you have done 12th class with science side then there are a lot of options available to you.

1.You can become a officer in defense forces, for that you have to appear for NDA exam conducted by UPSC every year..

    2. You can become a doctor,to become a doctor you need to have PCB subjects,as well as you have to appear for entrance exams.

    3. You can become a CA/CS.

If you wish to join defense forces then you can apply for NDA.

Academy consists of three wings of joint training: army, navy and air force.

Admissions are conducted twice a year. At first a written test will be there which will be followed by interview rounds and also group tasks and medical.

At present there are about 350 vacancies and every year number of candidates applying is increasing.

    Eligibility for NDA exam:

    1. You should have done 12th class with maths for Army, and for Air-force and Navy you should have studied physics also.

2.Your age should be between 16-1/2 to 19-1/2 yrs.

Or if you want to become a IAS/IPS officer then first you have to complete your graduation in any stream.ONly after graduation you can apply for IAS/IPS .

Either you can do BCA course then MCA .

You can also do hotel management course.

you can do BBA then MBA from a good college .

    best of lk..

Re: What are the career options for a non-medical student other than engineering?

    Hello

Other than engineering you can opt for general graduation, which include B.sc in PHYSICS, MATHS or CHEMISTRY
if you are interested in computer application you can also do B.Sc in Computer science or BCA.
If you are looking for good and quick career you can join NIIT for GNIIT course which provide good it education and also they have collaboration with a university which provide graduation degree.
what my advice would be is join some college and parallely do some IT course then at the end you will have graduation degree with technical IT skills which will definitely beneficial.
in IT course i would advice you to do Hardware and Networking
    courses are:
    A+
    N+
    CCNA
    RHCE

The above courses will take about 2 year so meanwhile you will also complete the graduation.
Now its on you to decide which path you choose.

    Hope i answered you question.

    Best of luck
