Re: Is MAT difficult than CAT? hai,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, dear Common Admission Test (CAT) and Management Aptitude Test (MAT) are the 2 national level MBA entrance exams, Common Admission Test (CAT): Among all the MBA entrance exams CAT is the foremost entrance exam,if you want to get good percentile, proper attentiveness than you must do lot of hard work to prepare for CAT exam. This is the only gate-way by which A-grade MBA colleges in India accept you. Indian Institutes of Management (IIM) is the apex body that conducts CAT entrance exams and the exam dates are also fixed by the same . institute. the exam consists ofproblem solve, critical reasoning, verbal ability, reading comprehension and data interpretation. Management Aptitude Test (MAT):MAT is conduct by AIMA and is approved by MHRD, GOI as a National Entrance Test. there are more than 500 institutions participate with the MAT exam each year. MAT exam is carry out in written and computer base exams. you can easily score more than 80 percentile in MAT exam. But 95 percentile is taken into those top grade next tier B-schools in India. Some of the colleges accept MAT score include Alliance Business Academy (Bangalore), Christ College Institute of Management, Bangalore, Indian Institute of Finance (Delhi), IMS (Ghaziabad) and BIMTECH (Noida) so dear both are important but you have to choose one among these and MAT mainly concentrates on experience candidates in work field who have experience. CAT is the first stage in the admission process to all the 6 IIMs which is followed by group discussion and personnel interview. MAT exam and it is known as the National Entrance Test for MBA and alike programs like PGDM. MAT is carried out four times in a year were as CAT is only once every year. The A-graded business schools review CAT scores where as MAT is review by B-grade schools in the country. Well nice question you have asked here, but it want to tell you that CAT is the most difficult examination and it is not easy to scored good percentile in CAT as compared to MAT. For CAT you need at-least 1-2 years preparation. You can easily score good percentile in MAT as compared to CAT. So as per me, CAT is the toughest examination. But if you are a hard candidates and dedicated towards study then there no exams is tough for you. CAT stands for Common Admission test and MAT stands for Management aptitude test. CAT is conducted by IIM's once in a year while MAT is conducted by AIMA, 4 times in a year and you can attempt MAT Examination "N" number of times. But if you missed the chance to appear for CAT once then you have to wait for 1 year. The notification of CAT Examination is generally published in the month of August and the examination will be conducted in November/December. The CAT exam is online only. But you can give MAT examination Online or Offline, you have to choose any one of the mode. You can fill the application form online only, from the official website of CAT. Offline and Online Both facility is available in MAT. The examination is objective with negative marking. The result declared on the basis of Merit. Graduation is the minimum standard set for both the examination, you have to scored minimum 50% marks in graduation to apply for CAT, While there is no percentage is required to apply for MAT. Final year appearing candidates are also apply for MAT/CAT Examination. There are only two separate sections in CAT Examination and you have to passed each one of the section individually. Re: Is MAT difficult than CAT? Dear Friend, MAT and CAT are entrance exam for the MBA. It requires minimum graduation. If you are in final year then also you are eligible. CAT exam is common aptitude test MAT exam is Management aptitude test CAT exam is only the aptitude test, it will not have much theoratical question. MAT exam will have the more theoratical question and also have problem question. so, Both exam are same you will have to work hard for each... The admission will based on these exams result marks... Mat stands for Management Aptitude Test which is conducted 4 times in a year by All India Management Association. Cat stands for Common Admission Test which is conducted by Indian Institute of Management. Various Top colleges across country fills their seat on the merit of CAT exam .However, entrance through MAT are done by state b-schools. Questions asked in MAT are more of speed based test.200 questions are asked in 150 min in MAT exam while CAT checks your understanding and aptitute and decision making ability in 30 questions in 70 minutes. CAT - Common Admission Test on the other hand is another national level exam which is conducted by the IIM's (Indian Institute of Management) for the common purpose of taking exam to select candidates for various MBA COLLEGES. CAT you have to do 30 questions in 70 minutes. Its quick and you need to be accurate with the exam. But on the other hand MAT has 200 questions and time is 150 minutes. So I cant call which one is tough but the level of CAT questions is definitely tougher. All the best Regards RANJEET
