Re: Which exam among GATE and IES will be better suitable for me while pursuing B.Tech ECE interms of Career perspective?

GATE and IES both are very good options to go for.

GATE is basically the exam conducted for the students who are interested in further studies related to their subject in B.Tech.

While on the other hand IES is a exam for those who are interested in civil services and government jobs.

As your branch is ECE you have got opportunity in both the fields. There are many vaccancies for the students of ECE in IES.

But it entirely depends on your interest which field to choose either reputed job or still further studies.

    BEST OF LUCK

If you are interested in higher studies than GATE will be better for you.
GATE examination is conducted by IITS FOR ENGINEERNING STUDENTS TO THEIR HIGHER STUDIES IF THEIR FIELDS.
AFTER THIS YOU GET GOOD JOB OFFER.
IF YOU HAVE INTEREST IN CENTRAL GOVT. JOBS IN ENGINEERING FIELDS THAN IES will be better for you.
For this you have to appear in IES examination and after qualifying the exams you get good job in govt sector on good scale.
So decide as you needed or your interest for higher studies.

    Dear friend,
As you are pursuing engg. degree then GATE would be better for you.Because after you will get admission in M.Tec in some of the IITs,then you can go for P.hd or you can do job.

But if you go for IAS then you have to change your field. Its a very difficult task.
Becoming a IAS is not a easy task compare to GATE.But if you do have interest in administration then you can go for IAS.

But i personally suggest you to go for GATE exam,as it has much surety that you will get what you want.

    Eligibility for GATE exam is:

1.Candidate should be a Indian citizen.

2.Candidate should have done his/her degree in any of engg. trade.

3.Master’s degree holders in any branch of Science / Mathematics / Statistics / Computer Applications or equivalent and those who are in the final or pre – final year of such programs.

    4. Candidate should have min 50% marks in degree.

According to your query both have their own importance.
    First coming to the GATE.
Most of the candidates will prefer GATE exam.
After completion of your B.Tech you can go for M.Tech through GATE exam.In present days ECE have a very good demand.
My advice is after completion of your B.Tech you can go for M.Tech, then easily you can get a good job.

Its purely depends upon your interest.
    Good luck......

Re: Which exam among GATE and IES will be better suitable for me while pursuing B.Tech ECE interms of Career perspective?

Well there is big difference between the GATE exam and the IES exam .

    GATE ::

The examination is conducted by the IIT's colleges every year to select students for the different Mtech program. The examination is of written types and question asked will be of objective types and students have to choose his streams in which he has given the Btech and want to pursue his Mtech program. The question will be asked on what you have studied in your Btech .The GATE examination score is considered by the many good college to give students admission in the Mtech program. Eligibility for the examination is ::

You must have passed your Engineering degree there is no minimum percentage required for the examination but college may put some at the time of admission to the Mtech program .
You should have completed your Msc in computer application or science subjects or statistics
There is no age limit of the examination .
Pre final year students are not allowed to take the exam from this year now .

So GATE examination will help you to pursue the Mtech program. You will be more technical sound and you can easily get the jobs .

    IES::

IES is Indian engineering service the examination is conducted by the UPSC every year for different post in the Indian engineering service .So it means that this is government jobs ,If you passed this examination it means that you have secured your Government jobs .The eligibility criteria to appear for the exam is ::

You must have got 4year engineering Degree in any one of the following streams :

    Electrical Engineering
    Electronics & Communications Engineering
    Civil Engineering
    Mechanical Engineering

Since you have done Btech which means that you are eligible to appear for the exam.
Final year students are also eligible.

Interested candidates who belongs to general class should be between 21 to 30 years and for SC/ST ist 21 to 35 years and for OBC 21 to 33 years .

So the choice is yours one examination will provide you the degree in the Mtech and other will provide you the government jobs .

Re: Which exam among GATE and IES will be better suitable for me while pursuing B.Tech ECE interms of Career perspective?

If you score well in the GATE exam you will be eligible to join for the M.Tech course. If you clear the IES exam you will be eligible for a job in Government service. Both the options mentioned by you seem to be attractive. Having a postgraduation will always be an added advantage. Also it will help in career growth. As you are studying you must try for the GATE first. You must be well prepared so as to secure admission in institutes like IIT, NIT etc.

Re: Which exam among GATE and IES will be better suitable for me while pursuing B.Tech ECE interms of Career perspective?

If you are interested to go foreign countries then go for IES i.e., to study in singapore.
Otherwise GATE exam is more then enough to study ME. In the GATE exam you have lot of special offer to do.
You will get the stipend from the government for your studies. So you can earn while you study.
So my choice is GATE is the best..........
