Yes networking can prove a very good field for a computer science graduate.
Basically networking is concerned with connecting the organization internally or externally with the outside networks.
So, basically networking helps in the communication of information between different organizations or it is used for the communication of information within the same organization.
In my opinion , both networking and programming field can prove good options provided the individual is interested in the selected field.
So, it now depends on your personal interests and aspirations which field is suitable for you.

Both networking and programming are good options after B.Tech in CSE. Selection among these branches depends on the interest of the candidate. Those who are interested in installation and maintenance of computer networks can try for networking jobs. Candidates with enough skills in software development can have jobs in programming. Verizon, Deutsche Telecom, Toshiba, etc are examples of firms offering jobs related to networking. Software programming jobs can be obtained in firms like Infosys, Accenture, TCS, etc. Opportunities also exist in public sector firms like CDIT, CDAC.
