i think your rank is slightly poor to get admission in NITs.AS YOU KNOW That there are 500 seats in IITs and approximately 500 to 600 seats in NITS so any students who is getting rank beyond 1500 may face problems.But this year some PSU sector's companies also recruiting through GATE so you may get NITs is luck helps you.here are some NITs where you should try-

NIT jalandhar

NIT kurukshetra

NIT Jamshedpur

NIT hamirpur

NIT Patna

NIT Raipur

NIT Allahabad

NIT Silchar

NIT Durgapur

NIT Surat.

you can try at following central govt universities-

Aligarh muslim university

Assam university

Jamia Hamdard university

Manipur university

Mizoram university

Delhi university

north eastern hills university

Nagaland university

tezpur university

Jawahar lal university.

i have received 1900 rank in EC in gate 2012
what are probability of getting top rank NIT colleges mainly in electronics domain....
and may I have list of NIT where I should apply......
