    Details Regarding IES examination.

    UPSC every year conducts the IES examination every year for recruitment of candidates to Indian government services .
    The candidates having competing graduation in engineering are eligible for IES examination.

    The following branch of engineering candidates are eligible to give IES examination :

    Civil
    Mechanical
    Electrical
    and Electronics and Telecommunication engineering
    are eligible to give IES examination.

    Age limit : 21 years to 30 years.

    Age relaxation given to under reserved category candidates.

    Dear friend ,

    IES stands for indian administrative service ,this exam is comes under civil services .

    This exam is conducted by union public service commission once in a year .

    Eligibility criteria for this exam are here under :-

    Your nationality must be an Indian .

    Your age must be within 21 to 30 years .special age relaxation is given to the sc/st and obc candidates .

    You must have done your bachelor of technology or must be in final year of it with any of the given trades only :-

    Civil engineering ,

    Mechanical engineering ,

    Electrical and electronics engineering ,

    Electrical and communication engineering ,

    No of attempts :-

    For general : 4 times ,

    For SC/ST :- no limits ,

    For OBC :- 7 times ,

    Well mine friend, it's good to know that you are interested in IES examination which stands for Indian Engineering Service.

    This examination is conducted by UPSC once a year.



    Eligibility criteria for IES examination :

    >> You must have a age limit of 21-30 years.

    >> You must be a citizen of India.

    >> You must have got a Engineering degree from a recognized technical university

    You must have passed out from these trades :

    >>Civil
    >>Mechanical
    >> Electrical & Electronics Engineering
    >> Electronics and communication

    Well this examination is conducted at two levels :

    >> Written test

    >> Interview

    You will become eligible for it once you you final year of B.Tech

    Student of following Branch give the paper...
    1. Mechanical Engg.
    2. Civil Engg.
    3. Electronics and Comm. Engg.
    4. Electrical Engg.

    Student of Final year (4th) and pass out will Give the exam.......
    U can give the paper because at a time of entrance u r in 4th year

    Indian Engineering Services(IES) UPSC conducts IES exam every year. And IES exam will be totally for 1000 Marks.

    As a Civil engg. student you are eligible for IES exams! But, you can't write in 3rd year. You can write in final year.

    Your age should be between 21 to 30years.
    For SC/ST - 21 to 35years
    For OBC -21 to 33years
    For PD - 21 to 40years
    You can write IES even if you are in final year.

    Civil Engineering
    Mechanical Engineering
    Electrical Engineering
    Electronics Engineering
    If you have any engineering from above 4 branches or
    M.Sc(Electonics/Wireless Communication/Radio Physics/Radio Engineering)
    You must have a bachelor's degree in engineering from a recognized university.

    The Previous year questions morely concentrated on the following:
    Basics: 40% questions
    Applications: 40% questions
    Formulas and Graphs: 15% questions
    Assertion and Reasoning: 5% questions

    Examination will be from: 15th June'2012.

    The Application Form, an Information Bulletin, the Acknowledgement Card and an Envelope for sending completed applications can be purchased for Rs. 20/- from designated Head Post Offices / Post Offices. The examination fee is Rs. 100/-. It should be in the form of a Single Central recruitment Fee Stamp and affixed to the application. Only SC/ST and physically handicapped candidates are exempted from the payment of this fee.

    UPSC conducts IES exams. B.E/B.Tech graduates from recognized institutes can apply for this exam. You can pursue B.E/B.Tech in either of the streams like Electrical Engineering /Electronics & Communications Engineering/ Civil Engineering /Mechanical Engineering etc. You can apply for this exam while doing final year graduation. Even M.Sc graduates in streams like Wireless Communication, Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering can also apply for IES. Minimum age limit to apply for this is 21 years. Maximum age limit to attend this exam is 30 years. You should start preparations now so that you can appear for this exam when you are in the final year.

    Sorry to say that 3rd year student are not applicable for IES exam but after completion of your degree you are applicable for IES exam.



    f you have completed engineering discipline in following departments then you are eligible for IES exam

    1.Civil Engineering

    2.Electrical Engineering
    3.Mechanical engineering.
    4.Electronics and Communication Engineering.

    If you have M.Sc degree in Physics , Radio Physics then you are applicable for IES exam.


    The applicant age should between 21 yrs to 30 yrs.Age relaxation is provide for SC/ST/OBC candidate.


    Final year student also eligible for IES exam .


    Number of attempts for IES exam is for general student it is 4., for OBC it is 7 times. and for SC/ST it is 9 time.

    No you can not apply for IES exam when your in 3rd year of Graduation , you need to have completed Garduation.

    IES stands for Indian Engineering Services.

    To apply for this exam you nee to complete your graduation in engineering !

    You need to be citizen of India .

    You can also apply for this exam if you are in the final year of your engineering graduation.

    Your age need to be between 21 to 30 year`s.

    Age relaxation is only for reservation category students.

    You need to be mentally and physically fit .

    Indian Engineering Service (IES) exam is conducted by Union Public Service Commission in every year.

    Eligibility ::

    AGE - 21 to 30 years as on 1st august of the year of exam.There has been an age relaxation upto 3 years for OBC candidate and 5 years for Sc/ST candidate.

    Educational Qualification - Engineering degree or equivalent degree from a recognized university.

    Fee : Rs 100


    The result of IES examination will be available on the official website of UPSC when it will be released.
