National Eligibility Test is conducted by UGC to select candidates for lecturer post in colleges.NET exam is held 2 times a year.Dear friend as your age is 38 year, Which is too high for this exam.As you know the candidates who are of age upto 28 years are only eligible for this exams with the master degree. There relaxation for the candidates who belongs from the reserved category. It is maximum upto the 5 years. If you comes in the reserved category then also you have no chance for this examination. So dear friend sorry to say you are not eligible for NET exam..

After MA (Sociology), you can apply for UGC NET exam. You need to attend and qualify in this exam to become a lecturer in government colleges or universities. Only post graduates can appear for this exam. You should obtain 55% marks in PG level to become eligible to apply for this exam. Special category candidates are allowed relaxation in marks. In case of age limit you can very well attend this exam at the age of 38 years. No upper age limit to attend this exam. You can apply via online for this exam. You can apply for lecturer posts in any reputed government colleges based on UGC NET exam score.

    Attachment 13090
    Dear Candidate,

It depends for what you want to appear in UGC NET....

UGC NET exam is for two purposes..

    1. For JRF
    2. To Join Lectureship

There is not any age limit if you want to join lectureship and you are eligible..

If You want to appear in exam for JRF then there is upper age limit...

You are not more than 28 years...

You are not eligible for JRF but you can apply for lectureship...
