    FRIEND,

For CIVIL SERVICES EXAM there is no criteria of minimum marks required to be eligible to sit for the exams.

You must have passed the graduation and those who are in the final year can also appear for the exams.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR THE EXAM IS:

1)You must be an INDIAN Citizen

2)Your educational qualification must be a graduation in any field from any recognized University.

3)If you are in the final year of graduation then also you are eligible for the exam.

4)Your age must be between 21 years to 30 years.

    Relaxation for the Reserved categories
    • FOR SC/ST : 5 years
    • FOR OBC : 3 years
    5)NUMBER OF ATTEMPTS:
    • FOR GENERAL CATEGORY: 4 Attempts
    • FOR SC/ST CATEGORY : No limit
    • FOR OBC CATEGORY : 7 attempts

You cannot appear for the exam now but you can appear for the exam when you are in the final year of graduation.

    GOOD LUCk.

Re: What is the minimum required percentage in B.Com to write IAS Entrance examination? Am I eligible to write IAS exam while pursuing B.Com 2nd year?

There is no such minimum required percentage in Bachelors in order to appear for civil services examination or IAS(Indian administrative services) examinations.
There are only two qualifications that are required to be satisfied in order to appear for the same:
1)The candidate must have complete his o her graduation.(Note that there is no minimum percentage which should be obtained in the exam).
2)The candidate must satisfy the age limit criterion.
You are not eligible to appear for the exam while pursuing the second year of graduation.

    Hi dude.....

There is no minimum percentage required in order to appear for the Indian Administrative examination IAS.This examination only needs to complete graduation in any of the discipline and you can apply for the examination with the just pass of degree also......
And the important thing is you can not apply for the examination while pursuing your degree 2 nd year you need to complete the degree course for appearing to the examination........

Generally the IAS/IPS Examination is conducted by the UPSC(Union Public Service Commission),and this examination comes under the civil services which are offered by the government of India and this examination is one of the Prestagious examination conducted all over the India for the selection of India's Best brains in to the Civil Services......
There are some eligibility criteria required in order to appear for the civil services examination, such as.....
    >>Nationality-
you must be the citizen of India.....
Candidates belonging to other countries and who are refuged to come to India and settled here are not eligible for the examination.....
    >>Age limit-
you must have attained the age of 21 years and should not exceed the age of 30 years
    >>Educational Qualifications-
you must have completed the Bachelor degree or any other graduation course for being eligible for the examination and there is no minimum required percentage to become eligible and you can apply with the just qualify marks of the graduate course......
    >>Number of Attempts-
There are some fixed number of attempts to be made such as
    General candidates-4
    SC/ST-no limit
    BC's-7
These are the required and fixed number of attempts to be made for the Civil services examination......

No.....You are not eligible for IAS.If you are interested in the IAS then you must complete your graduation. So after completion of your graduation only you can go for IAS examination.

IAS:Indian Administration Service.UPSC will hold the IAS examination every year.

    Eligibility for IAS;

    • You must be citizen from India.
    • Your age should in between 21-30 years. The upper age limit will be applicable for ST/SC/OBC candidates.
    • You have to complete your graduation from any recognized university.
    • You must physically fit as per rules.

The examination should consist of 2 phases namely..
    • Preliminary examination
    • main examination.

Preliminary examination should consist of 2 papers and both are objective type questions.

Main examination is descriptive paper.here you have to choose the optional subjects.Based on those subjects only you can write the examination.

So after completion of your garduation only you can go for IAS examination..

IAS,Indian Administrative Service conducted by upsc is one of the most reputed and toughest exam....and there is a long process for the selection of an ias officer....To appear for IAS exam you must be degree holder from a recognised university.....IAS is the one who can change the society and can develop the minds of present people.....
Since you are in 2nd year and have not completed your degree so you are not eligible for writing IAS exam...so firsy get your degree and then appear for the exam..there is no percentage criteria for IAS exam...but still you should have at least 60% as you are going to appear for such a reputed exam.....so Best Of Luck

Re: What is the minimum required percentage in B.Com to write IAS Entrance examination? Am I eligible to write IAS exam while pursuing B.Com 2nd year?

One needs to be a graduate- holding bachelors degree in any graduation stream.

The candidate must fetch a minimum of 50% of marks to apply for IAS exam conducted by UPSC every year.

One can also write the exam, or apply for the exam when one is in the final year of one's graduation.

But as you are a second year student, you can apply for the exam.

But you can definitely start preparing for the same.

You also need to fulfill the age criterion:
An open category candidate has to be in the age range of 21-30 years of age.
There is a provision of 3 and 5 years of age relaxation to OBC and SC/ST candidates.
The relaxation is applied to upper age limit.

A candidate also has to be an Indian Citizen for the same.

Thus, presently you are not eligible, but you can definitely apply next year.

    (1)Citizen of India
    (2)Graduate from any recognised
    university by Govt. of India.

IAS stands for Indian Administrative Service

There are 3 Indian Civil service exam and IAS is one of the service and for becoming a IAS officer you need to write the IAS exam which is conducted by UPSC every year.

As you have said that you have finished your B.com i.e a degree you can apply for the IAS exam as regarding the education qualification.

There is nothing to be specified about percentage as you would need to have got a fair percentage to apply for the IAS Exam.

Some of the other eligibility criteria's are that the candidate should have been a citizen of India.

Candidate should have a age limit which is between 21-30 years for candidates who are from General Category and for candidates of SC/ST it is 21-35 years and for OBC candidates it is 21-33 years. The candidates who are Ex-service men will get 5 years exception from the prescribed limits.

Candidates should have done their graduation from a recognized university with a fair percentage are eligible for the IAS exam and candidates who are writing their final degree exam can also apply for the IAS exam.

If you tend to satisfy all the above criteria's then you can apply for the IAS Exam.

    IAS progression:

You can get more information regarding the exam at the official site of UPSC at http://www.upsc.gov.in

No you can't appear for the exam, because you are in second year.

    Eligibility for CSAT:

1.You must be at least 21 years of age at the time of filling the Civil Services (Preliminary) Exam form and not more than 30 years of age,33 for OBCs and 35 for SCs/STs

2.Four attempts for open, seven for OBCs and no limit for SCs/STs.

3.Candidate should have a graduate degree from any college which is recognized by UGC, or possess an equivalent qualification.

4.Candidates who are in the final semester or have taken their final degree exam but are awaiting the results can also appear for the IPS Preliminary examination provided they furnish their proof of degree while filling the Mains form.

    Procedure is follows:

1.In pre exam two papers will be there, each of two hours a) General studies and b)Optional subject. Objective type questions will be asked.

2.Main paper comprises of 9 papers, each of three hours. One of the Indian languages,2 papers on general studies ,2 papers on option-1 and 2 papers on optional-2.
