CDS(Combined defense service) Examination is an examination conducted twice a year by UPSC(Union public service commission).
The exam is usually conducted on the second sunday of February and the second sunday of september.Its interview is conducted by
Service selection board(SSB).

CDS stands for Combined Defence Service examination and this examination is conducted by Union Public Service Commission twice in a year as namely CDS I and CDS II.This year CDS I examination was already completed and next notification will be publish in the month of June in the official website as well as employment news.

Important dates for 2012 :-

~~Date of Notification :- 02.06.12
~~Last date for receipt of application :- 02.07.12
~~Date of examination ;- 16.09.12

To apply for this examination the candidate have to completed their graduate degree with any desire subject from a recognized University or equivalent qualification and final year candidate may also eligible to apply for this examination.There is no specific percentage required for this examination.There is no backlogs at the time of appearing for this examination if you have any backlogs and then you are not eligible to apply for CDS examination.Pre-final year of degree course may not eligible to apply for this examination.

Age limits :-

~~IMA :- 19 years - 24 years.
~~Naval :- 19 years - 22 years.
~~Air force :- 19 years - 23 years.
~~OTA :- 19 years - 25 years.

CDS stands for Combined Defense Service.This exam is conducted by Union Public Commission Service every year twice to take qualified student into different defense service like

>>Indian Army

To appear for CDS(Indian Air Force/Indian Navy),you should have completed graduation degree in engineering from recognized university and your age should be between 19 to 22 years.

To appear for CDS(Indian Army),you should have completed graduation degree with any stream from a recognized university and your age should be between 19 to 24 years.

CDS exam notification details for this year:
CDS-I exam notification released on 28th Oct 2011,closed on 29th Nov 2011 and exam held on 12th Feb 2012.
CDS-II exam notification released on 2nd June 2012,closes on 2nd July 2012 and exam will held on 16th Sept 2012.

COMBINED DEFENCE SERVICE EXAM(CDSE)

This exam is conducted by UPSC in every year.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION

Those candidate are completed graduation are eligible for CDSE exam but 12 standard subject must be Math and Physics.

B-TECH ans BE student are also eligible for this exam .But you have not any Pending Backlog.

Final Year student are also eligible for CDSE exam.There is no percentage marks criteria.

AGE CRITERIA

Indian Military Academy - 19-24 Years
Air Force Academy - 19-23 Years
Naval Academy - 19-22 Years
Officer's Training Academy - 19-25 Years


MARITAL STATUS

Only Unmarried persons are eligible

NATIONALITY

You must have citizenship from India.
