    HI,
    The branches of dentistry are:-
    1) Oral Medicine and Oral Radiology.

    2) Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

    3) Community Dentistry (or) Preventive Dentistry.

    4) Pedodontics

    5) Endodontics

    6) Periodontics

    7) Orthodontics

    8 ) Prostodontics

    9) Oral Pathology

In above Oral pathology, Oral Medicine and Oral Radiology, Community Dentistry are the non-clinical.
If you have do M.D.S in any department after that you can join as professor in that department in any college.

    Good luck!

    Hello friend,

Setting up a clinic is not only the option for a dental doctor. You have got many options other than setting up a clinic. You can even work in Corporate sectors,Manufacturing units,Industries,Insurance companies,Railways as a health officer

Career options other than setting up clinic after BDS

    • Dental departments in hospitals
    • Forensic Departments
    • insurance fraud
    • Pharmaceuticals and other companies
    • Companies which produce dental and oral care products
    • research and advisory works
    • Dental Hygienist, Dental assistant or as a Dental consultant to models and film artists
    • UPSC
    • Staff Selection Commission for states
    • Civil Services

The best option any one could have suggest is to do MBA in hospital management where you can find 1000s of opportunities which fetch you very high pay package

If you want to go for teaching sectors you should clear UGC NET and later you can work as lecturer in Government colleges and its better to do B.Ed along with BDS

    ALL THE BEST!!!!!!!
