    Hi Friend,
one can have a possibility to complete B.Tech in 8 years. if your friend still have a chance then it is better to go for B.Tech final year and complete his graduation. it can save him time and money.
if he dont have that possibility then he can do BSc or BBA or BCA. these will take 3 years to complete and he can be a graduate.
my advice is better to take any professional courses like diploma in multimedia or photography or anything of his interest which will fetch him a job.

    All the best

all fields are typical now a days so your friend needs to decide and choose in which he is interested not what you and his family think about his life, please do not try to take admission in other in which not interested.
and as you said in ques. that your friend belongs from economically weaker section so i suggest that take admission in reputed govt. university main campus , doing so is
tough but best way to accomplish you carrier.

if he want to do b.tech so the thing he want to do is better join in GOOD COLLEGE and have good knowledge on the things going around him and to get job in college placements so that he will get good idea on the COMPANIES HIRING STRATEGIES and later after getting good experience he may jump to the other companies
if he is good at computers then it is better to take CSE IN B.TECH
if he is good at electronics then it is better to take ECE IN B.TECH

hi dear friend if you are doing b.tech with IT or CS field so you have a good scope in future. But you should be strong in computer programming language.
    Like that c,
    c#,
    java
    vb.net
    asp.net
    jsp.net
    netbeans
    etc.
So you can get good job in famous IT companies like that-
    HP
    HCL
    WIPRO
    MICROSOFT
    ISRO
    ONGC
    ACCENTURE
    NTPC

Absolutely! You can resume your b.tech final year with in 8 years from the date of joining in the college. If 8 years are over already, you could not resume or continue your b.tech.
