    To apply for IPS exam you need to have completed your Graduation ,So if your 12th percentage is less also its not a a problem.

    IPS stands for Indian Police Service.

    IPS,IAS,IFS are the Services which are included in the services which come under Civil services.

    Civil service exams are conducted by UPSC.

    To apply for Civil service exams:-

    You need to have completed your Garduation .

    You need to have a minimum of 50% in your Garduation.

    The exam is conducted in 2 stages:-

    1)Preliminary and

    2)Mains.

    After clearing Preliminary exam only you can appear for Mains exam.

    General candidates have 4 attempts.

    OBC candidates have 7 attempts.

    SC/ST candidates hae no limit.

    IPS is organized by UPSC(Union Public Service Commission) every year!!
    SCHEME OF EXAMINATION
    The civil service examination is conducted by UPSC(UNION PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION)every year. The examination has three stages i.e.,
    1)Preliminary examination(normally conducted during the second half of may)
    2)Main examination (normally conducted during the month of oct/nov,those who are selected in preliminary are only eligible for main examination)
    3)Interview(those who are selected in main examination will be eligible for interview)
    ELIGIBILITY
    1)A pass in a degree from any University
    2)You must be a citizen of India
    3)You must have attained 21 years and not be over 30 years on August 1 of the year of examination.
    The upper age limit is relaxed in specific cases as mentioned below:
    upto a maximum of 5 years if the candidate belongs to SC/ST.
    upto a maximum of 3 years if the candidate belongs to Other Backward Classes(BC's)
    You must complete your Graduation Degree(No restriction in Min.Percent)
    Number of attempts::
    - General candidates: four attempts.
    - Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates: No restriction.
    - Other Backward Classes: seven attempts
    PROCESS BECOME A IPS OFFICER:-

    1. Fill up the Application form.
    2.Preliminary exam is consist of two papers.
    a) General studies -----150 marks
    b)From Optional subject -------300 marks
    3.If you have qualify in Preliminary exam then you have to go for IPS mains exam

    With 12th qualification you are not eligible for Indian Police Service exam,You can appear for Indian Police Service exam after completing graduation degree with pass percentage.
    >>Indian Police Service and Indian Administration service exam is part of civil service exam.This exam is conducted by UPSC every year.

    Eligibility criteria for Civil service exam:
    >>Candidate should have complete graduation degree with any stream from a recognized university
    >> For General Category:Age should be between 21 to 30 years
    >>For OBC category:Age should be between 21 to 33 years
    >>For SC/ST category:Age should be between 21 to 35 years.

    General category candidate can attempt 4 times
    OBC category candidate can attempt 7 times
    SC/ST/PD category candidate can attempt 14 times.

    There is no Percentage criteria for IPS exam.Only graduate Persons are eligible.

    IPS exam is conducted by UPSC. There are some criteria you have to follow for appearing in IPS exam.

    Those candidate have completed graduation in any discipline from recognized university are eligible for IPS exam.
    But your age should be in between 21-30years for general candidate.

    In IPS exam their is provide age relaxation for OBC candidate is 3years and for SC/ST candidate is 5 years.

    The maximum attempts for Sc/ST candidate is Unlimited. For OBC candidate it is 7 years and for general candidate it will be 5 years.

    Also you must be citizen of India.

    Dear,
    Yes you are elligible because in the civil services exam like IAS,IPS marks dosenot matter to qualify.
    You should have a degree from a recognized university.
    The age limit is between 21-30years
    You should also be a citizen of INDIA.
    I think if you fulfill the abive criteria you can give the exam and if you clear the exam you have to go for the next round which is physical.
    Prepare well for the written and after that it all depends on your stamina and concentration in the physical round.

    Yes, You are eligibe!!!!! But only after completing your graduation!! There's nothing that you have to maintain min.percent for the civil services especially for the exams like IPS,IAS etc. So, Complete your graduation first then you will be eligible for IPS!!

    Physical Requirements for IPS:


    • Minimum height of 165 cm for Men and 150 cm for Women (minimum height is relaxable to 160 and 145 cm for Men and Women respectively in the case of candidates belonging to SC/ST)
    • Min Chest girth fully expanded: 84 cm for Men and 79 cm for Women. Expansion of 5 cm for Men and Women.
    • Total amount of Myopia (including the cylinder) should not exceed minus 4.00 D and total amount of Hypermetropia (including the cylinder) should not exceed plus 4.00 D


    Important:
    Presence of Squint(Cross-eyed person) is a disqualification for IPS!!

    PRELIMINARY EXAMINATION

    General Studies-150 marks
    Optional subject-300 marks

    Notification will be Published on: 04th Feb'2012

    Last Date for Submission of Application is on:05th March'2012

    Preliminary exam will be on 20th May'2012
