    To appear for this exam the candidate applying should be a post graduate. The minimum of 55% is a must to apply for the test. Also they should have studied in a recognised institute. There is no age bar to apply for this test. So if you are a post graduate you can apply for this test. You need to select the subject based on the area of specialisation in post graduation. You are not permitted to any other subject from the list provided.

    Eligiblity Criteria for NET Examination -

    NET (National Eligiblity test) Examination was conducted by UGC Every year Two Times, First in June and Then December Again.

    >> The June NET 2011 Examination was already completed and If you are Interested in NET then please apply for this examination after the Notification of December NET.

    NET Eligiblity Criteria -

    >> Firstly you need to be a Post Graduate in any discipline form a UGC recognised University.

    >> You must have scored minimum 55% marks in your Post graduation.

    >> Final year Candidates are also apply for NET Examination.

    So, If you have completed OR pursuing your Master degree course with minimum 55% marks then you are eligible to apply for NET Examination.

    >> The Notification of NET Examination was Published in the Month of September 2011 and eligible candidates may fill the application form Online By visit the Official website.

    The examination fees of NET was Rs 450 and you have to pay the fees in SBI Branch as a challan form and then you are eligible to fill the Online application form.

    >> The NET Examination was Held in 3 parts and conducted into 2 session. The First two papers are Objective and Last paper was Objective.

    >> Candidates have to choose the Optional subjects as per the Post graduation subjects. The List of Subjects are availiable in the UGC website. So, If you have completed your Post graduation then you are eligible for NET Examination and for more Information please check the official website -

    you are definitely eligible for NET exam with 56% marks
    Because eligibility for this exam is only 55% marks in Post graduation. So you are Post Graduate & you have 56% marks. you are obviously eligibile for this exam

    Yes,you can apply for this exam.The required qualification for this exam is

    >>This exam is conducted 2 times in 1 year in June and December .

    >>There are 77 different subjects.

    Eligibility criteria:

    >>In your master of degree you get minimum 55%.(with out rounding off)

    >>For SC/ST/PH candidates’ minimum required is 50%.

    >>For final year students are also applied for this exam.

    Age Limit:

    >>Maximum age is 28 years only.

    >>For SC/ST/PH/OBC candidates can relaxation is 5 years.

    NOTE:This is only for Junior Research Fellowship candidates.

    >>There is no age limit for Lectureship.

    Important Dates:

    >>Date of Entrance Examination: last week of December, 2011

    >>Last Date for receipt of completed application forms: end of September, 2011

    Examination scheme:

    >>This exam is divide in to 3 papers.

    yes dear ,
    for national eligibility entrance test you must have M.Sc or equivalent degree , minimum 55% marks for General and OBC candidates; 50% for SC/ST candidates, Physically and Visually Handicapped candidates and Ph.D. degree holders passed Master's degree prior to 19th September 1991.

    Those candidates belonging to the general/Other or Backward classes (OBC) who have secured at least 55% marks With all subjects or Those category like (handicap or ST) have secured at least 50% marks without grace or rounding off in master's degree examination are eligible to appeear in the NET examinations,

    Hello friend, you did not specify your qualification . Then only i can tell you are eligible or not. NET stands for national eligibility test. The educational qualification is master degree graduation in any stream. It is for lectures and teachers. Prepare well. All the best

    NET i.e National Eligibility Test is conducted by U.G.C twice in a year.(June and December).June examination was already completed and results of the examination was not declared yet.

    Eligibility Criteria for this examination :-

    NET exam is conducted by UGC(University Grants Commission) and this exam is conducted every year.

    Sorry you haven't mentioned your qualification in which you got 56%.

    As only candidates who have done their post graduation are only eligible for the NET exam.

    The candidates should have got 55% aggregate and for candidates who are from SC/ST/VH/PH candidates should have 50% aggregate.

    The candidates who are Junior Research Fellowship should have a age limit of 19-28 years.

    The candidates must appear the exam with the subject of their post graduation only.

    The NET exam consists of 3 papers:

    Paper I :

    It will consist of 50 questions and will have question from general nature intended to assess the teaching / research aptitude of the candidate.Total marks for the paper is 100.

    Paper II:

    It consist of 50 objective type questions and this paper is selected by the candidate.Total marks is 100.

    Paper III:

    This paper consist of 4 sections and total marks for the paper is 200.

    The candidate must appear for the Paper I so that he can appear for Paper II and III.

    NET stand red for National eligibility test.
    These NET exam will contain 2 phases
    -Junior research fellowship(JRF)
    -Lecture ship
    UGC will conduct the NET in 78 subjects.
    Teh candidates who qualify for the award of JRF are eligible to purse the research in post graduation or in a related subject and are also eligible for lecture ship.

    Eligibility for JRF:
    Age:Not more than 28 years.
    Relaxation up to 5 years.
    For L.L.M degree candidates age relaxation is up to 3 years.
    There is no upper age limit for Lectureship.

    The candidate who have secured at least 55% of marks in Master's Degree or equivalent examination from institutions recognized by UGC humanities and social sciences,computer sciences and applications ,electronic science etc...
    Minimum percentage for ST/SC/PH/VH candidates is 50%finally you are eligible for NET exam.

    eligibility to appear for the NET exam

    Yes,you can appear for NET exam.
    The eligibility for NET is as follows:
    -Masters degree with at least 55% marks.
    -Age limit: 1)Junior Research Fellowship: max 28yrs.
    2)Lectureship: no upper age limit.

    So,you are eligible to apply for NET exam.
