Well nice that you want to pursue your career in teaching. Today very few science candidate even think of opting for teaching which is one of the TOP 10 career options in India and most Lucaretive one also.

However, I can guess if you want to make a career in teaching for higher academic level. If so then Bachelor degree is isn't enough neither a Master is also enough, you have to go for PhD at least.

For becoming a lecturer in any Government College or University of India it is mandatory that candidate must have completed his/her PhD through UGC NET/CSIR or State SLET or from any recognized and well accepted place like- University of Pune, Delhi University etc.

Today the starting salary for any Lecturer in any good college would be 36,000 (approx) per month which will keep increasing up to 70,000 (Approx) per month for Professors. One of the best benefit for government job is additional benefits like- Pension, Accommodations, Gratuity, Allowances etc. In fact this is the reason that even being offered 6 figure per month salary government job holders doesn't want to opt for private sector in this regard.

You are free to choose M.Phil also which is even valued then PhD, but a Dr. title may not be confirmed for M.Phil holders. But other prospects are good one.
