Is it possible to do M.C.A without maths.?

No, mathematics is mandatory for doing the m.c.a

These days there also institute which offers admission without Mathematics but you need to be very cautious and verify whether that particular college which is asking that maths is not mandatory is according to AICTE norms or not.

If it is according to AICTE norm then go a head and apply for that college and continue your studies if not choose some other college which is as per AICTE norms and conditions.

Re: Is it possible to do M.C.A without Maths?

No it will not be possible for you to do MCA without mathematics in class 10+2 as well as in graduation.

Other way for taking admission in MCA without mathematics in 10+2 is that you must have completed BCA after passing class 12.
In BCA there is no need to have mathematics in class 10+2 .
If you have completed Simple plain graduation from any stream then in this case you should have Statistics as a necessary subjects in graduation.

There are various MCA entrance test conducted in which mathematics is necessary for appearing in this exam.

Necessary details for taking admission in MCA are:-

    >>You should have mathematics as a necessary subjects in class 10+2.
    >>In graduation there should be maths/statistics as your necessary subjects.
    >>Your age should not be above 21 years.
    >>There should not be more then two years of gap.
    >>Your marks should be above 65% in class 10+2 as well as in graduation.

The list of popular entrance exams related to MCA are:-

    AIMCET Conducted by IIT.
    NIMCET conducted by NIT.
    OJEE.
    WBJEE.
    MAH-CET.
    TANCET.

Re: Is it possible to do M.C.A without Maths?

    Hi Buddy,

It is a regret to tell you that it is not possible for you to join M.C.A without mathematics. Many universities considers maths as the basic requirement for MCA. hence you don't have other choice except to take up any other course.

If you can work hard in studying mathematics then it would be apt for you to complete MCA, because neglecting a small subject will earn you nothing except loosing a good opportunity.

So my suggestion is that either you compromise with maths take it up and complete MCA or else leave MCA and think about other courses.

    All the best.

MCA is a masters course in computer technology covering wide concepts of softwares, hardwares, infrasture, networking and programming.
Mostly the eligibility criteria for the MCA follows as that the candidate must have a bachelor degree in any discipline with mathematics as one of the subjects in 10+2 and graduation.
You have to clear entrance exams of various MCA providing institutes and universities which require you to have knowledge of mathematical aptitude and elementary mathematics.

But there are some institutes in India that provide MCA without mathematics also.
You have to be just a graduate in any discipline with atleast 50% marks.

But according to me you should opt it with maths as maths turn out to be very useful in MCA.
MCA covers certain numerical methods in programming which need maths.
You also need maths for better concept clarification of algorithm, logic gates, programming, networking and dynamics.
Also MCA without maths students find very difficulty in getting a better job than with maths students.
So go with MCA with maths.

MCA is a master degree in computer of 2 years duration. Many universities are there who conduct mca course. For mca maths is a compulsory subject because here students have to solve many numerical problems which requires basic mathematics of graduation and +2 level.Keeping in mind maths for mca students is not too tough, the only aim is that a candidate must be able to calculate problems through formulas. There is no college who will not demand maths as a eligiblity to pursue mca course. Eligiblity-Eligiblity requires that a candidate must be graduate with mathematics background in graduation and in class 12 with minimum 50 percent marks in graduation.
