in forensic there is a minimum chances for promotion because in this field you get only the research point and after doing the research you just get some prefix in your name and post .
only this is the way of only for promotion. this type of exam conducted by the tamil nadu board.
Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) conducts the examination for the post of Scientific Assistant Grade II in Tamil Nadu Forensic Science Subordinate Service.

Eligibility

Age should be 19 to 30 years as on the last date of the receipt of application.
No maximum age limit for SC/ST/MBC/DC/BC/BCM and destitute widows of all castes.

Age relaxation upto 5 years is available for persons those who are affected by the ban order as per the orders of the Government.

How to apply - Application can be obtained from the Post Offices on payment of Rs.30/- and Examination fees in Rs.125/- .you can avail the application online through the Commission's website. You should enclose attested copies of all certificates along with the application form. Filled application form along with the enclosures should be sent to this address --

Educational Qualification--

M.Sc., (Forensic Science) Degree and a degree in the subject, for the group as shown in the explanation below to which he is appointed
M.Sc., Degree in the subject for the group as shown in the explanation below to which he is appointed
Preference shall be given to a person who holds a degree in M.Sc., (Forensic Science)
List of Optional Subjects

Candidate should specify the optional subject in the application form in which they wish to answer. They would choose only the subject in which they have obtained the qualification
Anthropology
Bio-Chemistry
Botany
Chemistry
Forensic Science
Micro Biology (Science)
Physics
Zoology
Written Test

Written Test will be a single paper with objective type questions
Single paper in any one of the selected optional subjects - 300 marks
Interview and Record - 40 marks
Minimum qualifying marks for Selection

SCs, SC(A)s,STs, MBCs/ DCs, BCs(Other than BCMs), BCMs - 102 marks
Others - 136 marks
