    No My dear friend,
    It is not compulsary

    *Eligibility*


    You must have done b.tech in any one of the following trades.
    1.Mechanical Engg.
    2.Civil Engg.
    3.Electrical Engg.
    4.Electronics and Communication Engg

    also there is age limit of 21 to 30 years. for students of sc/st there is relaxation in 5 years of age.
    You must pass the b.tech with atleast 60%marks to become eligible for giving the exam.

    No . IES exam not require any kind of percentage marks in 10th ,12th or Graduation degree.

    IES stands for INDIAN ENGINEERING SERVICES and the exam conducted for the selection of candidates for the IES post is ENGINEERING SERVICES EXAM.

    The exam is conducted every year in the month of June and the Notification for It comes out in the month of February.


    If you have completed engineering discipline in following departments then you are eligible for IES exam

    1.Civil Engineering

    2.Electrical Engineering
    3.Mechanical engineering.
    4.Electronics and Communication Engineering.

    If you have M.Sc degree in Physics , Radio Physics then you are applicable for IES exam.


    The applicant age should between 21 yrs to 30 yrs.Age relaxation is provide for SC/ST/OBC candidate.


    Final year student also eligible for IES exam .


    Number of attempts for IES exam is for general student it is 4., for OBC it is 7 times. and for SC/ST it is 9 time.

    IES stands for Indian Engineering Services.

    IES exam is conducted by Union Public Service Commission for recruitment of engineers to various Engineering services of India .

    Education qualification :

    You must have Bachelor Degree in Engineering of a recognized University or Institute to sit for IES examination.

    Or
    Final year candidates of Engineering also eligible to apply for IES examination.

    The Candidates must have completd engineering course in following Branch :
    Civil engineering
    Mechanical engineering
    Electrical engineering
    Electronics and Telecommunication engineering.

    Age limit :
    21 years to 30 year.

    After those you can be able to give IES examination.

    Age relaxation is given to reserved category candidates.
