Re: Is it necessary to go through IBPS exam to take bank exams? When the IBPS exam will be held?

IBPS carry out CWE on behalf of 19 nationalized banks of the country. Selection to job positions in these banks is done via IBPS CWE and personal interview conducted by the concerned bank. So if you wish to obtain a job in any of the banks under IBPS, you should follow the procedure. IBPS conducts selection test for Clerk P.O, specialist Officer, etc. Exams for each of this post are usually conducted two times in a year. Now they have issued notification for recruitment of 82 grameen banks of India. Certain banks like SBI conduct their own written tests for selection process.

IBPS stands for Institute of Banking Personnel Selection.
The main motto of this IBPS is to provide recruitment to the banks by a common written exam for 19 exams.

We have to appear for IBPS exam to join in any 19 banks other than SBI and associated banks of State Bank, mentioned in the notification.
This exam will be conducted twice in a year for PO's and clerks.
