    Hello Aspirant!
A bachelors degree in any field of engineering should earn you a good job in Government Engineering services itself. And for this, you will need to write and qualify excellently UPSC and IES exams, which are both tough [IES is tougher, though] and will earn you a god post. However, it is no secret that jobs in Government sector is not that high [compared to private sector]. Even then, you get a lot of benefits being a government employee like pension, monthly allowances for leave, medical leave, government holidays, salary depending on cost of living etc. Plus, you can choose to do masters while you are working itself [through correspondence or part time colleges] and by submitting the certificate of masters degree, you will be eligible for higher salaries, benefits, and promotions!

In the Private engineering companies, however, a Bachelors degree may earn you a good job and good salary, but there is no job security and salary may often be delayed [if you scan newspapers, you may find many company employees have not been paid for 2 months etc], and if it is a software MNC, it can never be predicted when recession will hit and ruin your career. however, even in here, a masters degree completion is respected and you will be eligible for promotions, salary increments etc.

over all, recruitment after BTech through campus is worthwhile for you if you are desperate for a job. and even if you get a job at campus, you may choose to take it and gain some work experience, which is really essential when you go looking for jobs off campus. In the private sectors, I advise complete caution and be prepared to move on to better job and salary packages in a secure company only.

However, you may choose to do Mtech right after Btech and gain more knowledge and then go for a job. If you are going to do MTech, it is my sincere advice that you do it in a highly reputed college which will make your resume sound and attractive [like IIT]

For girls, any course like ECE, CSE, IT, EIE, EEE, Aerospace/Aeronautical engineering are really soaring. Out of these, aerospace, aeronautical and EIE are my personal favorite, but it has high competition for jobs. You can try ECE, CSE and IT. But it is still recommended that you do EIE

    All the Best
