Yes it is necessary to pursue b.com(ohns.) to become a lecturer. After b.com you can go for m.com,after completing your master degree you have to apply for NET exam.NET exam is conducted to test the skill and ability of candidates. After clearing net exam you will be eligible for lectureship.

    Dear friend,
keep it in mind that for becoming a lecturer that means to remain in academics for teaching you must have strong fundamental knowledge in the respective subject. By taking honors you get much information and a strong fundamental along with specialization in a particular subject and also it becomes easier for you to get a job as a lecture. So to take B.com(H) in stead of B.com(P) is more beneficial for you. But it is not mandatory to have B.com(H). After completion of your graduation you have to take admission in M.Com in any university, after then you can go for lectureship. But to have a seat in any good university you must have a good career and sometime they prefer Honors students than pass students. So it is advisable to do B.com(H).

No, its not necessary to do B.com Honors instead of B.com(p) but the preference is given to B.com Honors for best results so i suggest you, to do M.com and then try your luck as lecturer.
