National Fire Service College (NFSC), Nagpur

National Fire Service College was set up in the year 1956. The college is affiliated to the Ministry of Home affairs, India Government, New Delhi. It is located at Nagpur, the city that has good climatic and geographical features. The educational institution was initiated with a view to provide training in Fire Services to its aspirants.

Admission Process in NFSC

Applications are issued in the College Office room. Online forms are also available in the official website. The applicants after completely filling the application can submit it on hand or through post. The eligibility criteria for various courses are listed below.

For Sub officers’ course, the aspirants are required to have a pass in 10+2 or equivancy from a recognized Board or institution. The candidate should be aged in between 18 – 23 years.
For Station Officers’ and Instructors’ Course, the candidate is required to have a pass in the Sub officers’ course with 3 years experience as Sub – Officer or equivalent rank. The age limit for the candidate is 45 years.
For Divisional Officers’ Course, a pass in 10th or equivalent and a Diploma Certificate of the college or its equivalent is needed. Also, the aspirants must be aged below 50 years and should have 10 years minimum job experience in the concerned field.
For Breathing Apparatus Course, those aged between 20 – 40 years with a pass in 10th with Science subjects and a pass in Sub – officers’ course from NFSC is essential.
For Fire Prevention Course, the aspirants need to be Factory Inspector/ Engineers/ Plant Designer/ Architect/ Security Officer/ Insurance Surveyor/ Safety Manager in well-known industry.
For Bachelor of Engineering (Fire) course, the aspirants should be graduates in Science. They should have learned Physics, Chemistry or Mathematics as optional subjects.

Infrastructure of NFSC

The infrastructural facilities of the college include furnished classrooms with well-qualified teachers for different subjects. They provide excellent teaching guide to built up the potential of the candidates. The college has three separate laboratories. The fire prevention and protection laboratory consists of latest equipments, which help the students in learning various fire prevention techniques. Another one is the Wireless Communication laboratory, which is equipped with Wave analyzers, radio receivers and other devices for handling the fire field in the best possible way. It also has a Paramedics laboratory that provides safety to its candidates. Other facilities of the college include an excellent workshop, appliances and equipments, and a spacious library where there are books and magazines on the concerned subjects.
