National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) Entrance Exam

The National Aptitude Test in Architecture is a countrywide examination that is carried out for the admission of students into the undergraduate courses that are available in Architecture. The National Institute of Advanced Studies in Architecture (NIASA) that has an affiliation to the Council of Architecture, New Delhi performs this exam.

Structure and pattern of NATA

The NATA exam is separated into two parts- the computerized aesthetic sensitivity test and a drawing test using a paper. This exam has duration of two hours. The paper includes 40 objective type questions that have numerous choices. Negative markings will not be given. The main aim of these tests is to measure the aspirant’s good judgment of proportion, critical thinking capacity and aesthetic sensitivity in addition to their drawing as well as observation skills.

Qualification criteria for NATA

Candidates who are applying for the NATA exam must have a pass in class 10+2 with Mathematics. Those who have a Diploma from an acknowledged University or Board can also apply. The students should have achieved atleast 50% marks in the final exams. Candidates who cleared their International Baccalaureate Diploma with atleast 50 percent marks can also apply. They should have learned mathematics a subject.

Application Procedure of NATA

Aspirants have to fill in a pre-registration form that is accessible from the authorized website of the NATA. After the fees are paid, the students will be given a trial project from the centre. Following this, they will receive the appointment verifier along with the receipt of fees. The verifier will contain details about the date and time of the exam. The price of the NATA form is Rs. 800/-. This ought to be paid either prior to the collection of the appointment voucher or at the time of registration. The students have an option to pay the fees by cash or by DD. Aspirants who desire to get their form by post must send a letter of request to the NIASA office alongside a DD of the correct amount. They are also required to note down their registration number on the top of the letter. Besides this, a specimen signature should also be provided by the candidate at the reverse of the DD.
