    Dear Friend,
It is always better to do things that you are passionate about. Donít take your carrier decision thinking about the status of the job, salary or any other materialized factors. Find out what interests you in the field of engineering like, machines, software development, technologies, engines etc. Realizing what you are interested to do will help you make an apt decision that suits you the best. Following are some of the areas in both fields of engineering.

Mechanical engineers job profile is basically design, develop, manufacture, test tools, engines, machines, and other mechanical devices. Mechanical engineering is one of the disciplines in engineering which gives you a lot of option. If you choose mechanical engineering, you can work in any field according to your preference like automobile, construction, aeronautic, information technology, defense etc. There are huge opportunities for mechanical engineering worldwide. They are the 2nd highest employed engineers

Electronics and Communication Engineers would get jobs in electronics, manufacturing units, Telecommunication, IT, Health care, Power Electronics, and in industries like chemical industry, steel and petroleum. They may work with computers and electronic equipment and would be supervising control and testing production process etc.

A fresher might be given remuneration in between Rs.20000-35000 per month depending upon their skills and the company they are employed. To answer your question, neither one is better or worse than the other. It is up to the studentís preference which makes the subjects the best possible option for him/her.

Choosing the correct career could be a difficult task. Decision needs to be taken based on you interests. There are various options like going into the research field, taking up teaching assignment. If you are interested in research field you could work for laboratory, pharmaceutical companies, manufacturing units. If you are interested in teaching you could take up an phd, or BED. course after MSc. Only you could take a decision based on your likes and dislikes.

Most institutions conduct tests for intake to the MSc. Based on the university of your choice you need to check the procedures involved and prepare accordingly.
