There are specified physical requirements for attending the NDA exam. Those who are applying for this exam should be physically and mentally fit. The height and weight requirements will differ as per the particular defense wing you are applying to. The minimum height specified for attending the NDA exam for all the three defense wings are same. The minimum height should be 152 centimeters. In case of height, specifications will differ as per the particular defense wings. In order to apply in Indian Navy you should have a minimum weight of 44 kilo grams. But in case of Indian Army and Indian Air force it is 42.5 kilo grams.

NDA stand for National Defence Service Exam.This exam is conduct twice time in a year.

NDA Examination is conducted in 3 wings:

• Indian Air Force
• Indian Navy
• Indian Army


If you have completed 12th standard from recognized board with science department you are applicable for NDA exam.Commerce student are applicable for only Indian Army branch.

But your age should be in between 16.5 to 19 years.

Only unmarried male candidate are applicable for NDA exam.You must have citizenship of India.

NDA - National Defense Academy
NDA is conducted by UPSC twice in a year for the admission into the Indian Navy, Indian Army and Air Force wings of the NDA.

Once if you clear all the exams in the NDA then you get a job under the government of India.
After a training of one year after selection you get the permanent job.



Height :You should be 165cm. In the case of candidates coming under SC/ST/OBC the height required is 160cm

Chest :- Minimum requirement in the case of male is 84cm and they should be able to expand the chest for 5cm.

Eye sight :- 6/12 or 6/9 distant vision for worse eye and 6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good eye. Near vision for worse eye is J2 and for good eye is J1.

For Army wings:
You must have complete the 12th with 60% marks..

For navy:
You must have complete the 12th with science (PCM) with 60% marks..

For Air force:
You must have complete the 12th with physics and maths.

Age limits:

You must have age limit of 16 1/2-19 years.

About National Defence Academy Examination :

NDA examination is Conducted by UPSC, Twice in a year and to apply for this examination, you have to complete your 12Th examination from a recognised Board, Final year appearing candidates are also apply for this examination.

For this year NDA (I) Examination Notification was already Published and If you have missed the chance this year then please apply for this examination in August. The Notification of NDA (II) Examination will be published soon. To appeared for NDA, your age should between 16.5 to 19 years, No upper age relaxation is applicable for any candidates in this examination.

Important Criteria :

(A) You must be in good physical and mental health and free from any disease
(B) The minimum acceptable height is 157.5 cms. (162.5 cms for Air-Force).
(C) Your chest should be well developed, Fully expanded chest should not be less than 81 cms. The minimum range of expansion after full inspiration should be 5 cms.

Eye Sight Eligibility :
--------------------

(1) You should be able to read in a distant vision chart 6/6 in better eye and 6/9 in worse eye with or without glasses.
(2) Myopia should not be more than 2.5 D and hypermetropia not more than 3.5 D including Astigmatism.

Vision standard for Naval candidates:

>> Uncorrected without glass : 6/9
>> Corrected with glass : 6/6
>> Limits of Myopia : -0.75
>> Limits of Hypermetropia : +1.5
>> Binocular vision : III

Those who habitually wear spectacles are not eligible for Air Force, Minimum distant vision 6/6 in one eye and 6/9 in other, correctable to 6/6 only for Hypermetropia, Color vision CP-I Hypermetropia : + 2.0 D Sph

>> Manifest Myopia : Nil
>> Limits of colour perception : I
