Re: Is a MBA qualified to appear for the NET?

Sure there is no problem in you appearing for the NET exam. Since you are a postgraduate you are eligible to appear for this exam. However it is a must that the institute from where you pursued the course be recognized. Also it is a must that you have at least a minimum of 55% in Postgraduation. You will need to select the subjects based on what you studied in Postgraduation. Since you took both Human Resource and Finance you can select the subjects based on that. Make sure that the subjects chosen are based on your interest. Also it is important you prepare well for the exam.

Re: Is a MBA qualified to appear for the NET?

The basic qualification for appearing the NET exam is to have a post graduate degree. The minimum percentage of marks is 55%. With an MBA degree you are eligible to attend in the NET exam. The subject of your choice must be in relation with the post graduate degree. With an MBA in HR and Finance the candidates can appear for Management and business administration subjects. Some of the subjects are Management, Marketing, IR, finance, co-operation etc. Candidates qualifying in this exam will get a chance to work in any colleges and university. They can work as lectures in government and private institutions.

yes, an MBA qualified candidate can appear for NET. you can apply for NET even if you are in your final year of Masters. NET is undertaken either for the award of Junior Research Fellowship or for becoming eligible for lectureship. candidates who have secured at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s Degree /equivalent examination from institutions recognized by UGC in Humanities (including languages) and Social Sciences, Computer Science & Applications, Electronic Science etc. are eligible for this test and it is 50% for the SC/ST/PH/VH candidates.
there is no upper age limit for lectureship but one should not be more than 28 years of age to apply for Junior Research Fellowship.
