Re: Is Mathematics in 12th standard a must as an eligibility criteria for BCA course?

You are not qualified for pursuing the BCA program. The eligibility for BCA is pass in 12th standard or equivalent. Mathematics should be one of the subjects pursued in the HSC (10+2). A minimum of 50% marks atleast in the 12th standard is a must. Some of the colleges set the age limit as 17 years. You can go for the commerce-based courses in the degree level. Along with that you can probably join institutes like Aptech or NIIT for computer related courses. There are many chances for commerce graduates in financial institutions, banks; business consultancies etc. Self-employment opportunities are also available. After the course, you can go for job or higher studies in M.Com, MBA etc. These programs will improve you career and help you to get jobs in MNCs.

Re: Is Mathematics in 12th standard a must as an eligibility criteria for BCA course?

You mentioned your background is commerce without maths. So you are not eligible for the BCA course. The basic technical qualification required is Mathematics as a subject in plus two. The candidates must have 50% marks in the qualifying examination. Some institutions set the age limit as 17 years. The eligibility criteria are similar to most of the institutions in India. If you still have a desire to take up this stream you could probably join NIIT for its 3 year course. There are companies who take in candidates who are with this profile. But you need to make sure that you have good conceptual knowledge in the same.

Re: Is Mathematics in 12th standard a must as an eligibility criteria for BCA course?

If you do not have maths in your intermediate, then please dont worry, you will get admission in BCA course. Many colleges will provide admission in this course, if you dont have maths in intermediate. Many Top colleges will offer this course only for Maths students but there are so many good colleges, who offers this course and provide admission to Non maths candidates. So, to get admission in BCA, you must have passed in your 12th examination with atlast 50% marks with english as a compulsory subject. So if you are interested in BCA, then you can do this course from Lovely Professional University. You can also do DCA ( diploma in computer application ) Course after 12th. But if you think to get admission in BCA in top colleges, then its not possible for you, because maths is compulsory for top colleges.

most of the universities including Delhi university, offers BCA to only those +2 passers who had maths as one of the subjects in HSC.
but it's possible for you to pursue BCA in some universities or institutes of India where it's not compulsory to study maths in 12th.
    search wisely, all the best!!

    Hi Dear,
Yes, mathematics is necessary in your 10+2 for continuing BCA as your degree level background . But, unfortunately you don't have maths in your 10+2 level ,but nevermind still few colleges are their where they accept the students for BCA on the basis of any stream which they had done in 12th Standard. Or , even though if you have so much interest in Computers fields , you can do O,A,B level which is affilated to DOEACC Society. These are the very useful courses which are conducted by some insitutes like Aptech , Uptech etc. Thanks

To apply for BCA you should have mathamatics in yor 12th class ,If you dont have maths the concerned institution will not allow you to write the exam for BCA entrance .BCA comprises of mathamatical terms and these are necessary to understand ,which is possible only if you have studied maths at 11 th and 12th level. So better try for other course if you dont have maths in 12th class ,there are many related course with that of BCA .

I think you have a doubt about BCA and MCA eligibility
So we are talking about both of eligibility-

    BCA eligibility-
Any student who is completed their 12th class in any stream is eligible for BCA course,.
Their is no need of Maths for BCA.
    Now talking about MCA eligibility-
Any student which have Maths in 12th class OR in graduation time are eligible for MCA course.
Their is compulsory need of Maths to do MCA.
I think i have clear your doubt.

Re: Is Mathematics in 12th standard a must as an eligibility criteria for BCA course?

Yes this is very necessary in most of the university math in the 12th class because BCA is also a technical course. After BCA if you want to do the MCA then without math in 12th class you cannot get the admission. When you will apply for the job in the IT companies then math is very necessary subject in the 12th class.
So we have looked that in every field math is compulsory. If you have passed the 12th class without math then you can apply for the NIOS math exam.

    HAI DEAR,,,,,,

*One has to secure a minimum of 50% of marks in his 12th class in order
to be eligible to join this course.

*One should have completed 12th Class with Physics and Chemistry as the
compulsory subjects,Even after the completion of 12th Class in Science stream
also, the candidate is eligible to join this course.

*So, if you have gone through Science stream in your 12th class, you are eligible
    to join BCA course.

*Many of the colleges will give direct admission for this course.

*Try to collect the list of good colleges which are offering this course and join
in the college which is more convenient to you.

*Gain good subject knowledge and if you are having interest to do Post Graduation
    courses like :

    -MCA
    -MBA
Prepare for the respective Entrance Exam from the 2nd year of your BCA course.

*You can join in various job positions like :

    -Database Administrator
-Software Programmer etc. soon after the completion of your BCA course.

*But you will not be paid high salaries after completion of your BCA course if you
    join in Job.

*So,to get job of higher level designation with high salary, I suggest you to opt
    for MCA course.

Try to hunt for the jobs in top IT companies soon after the completion of your
    MCA course.

    ALL THE BEST,,,,,,,
