Maharashtra Middle School Scholarship Exam

The Maharashtra Middle School Scholarship examination is carried out by the Maharashtra State Council of Examinations for students of classes IV and V.

Structure and Pattern of the Maharashtra Middle School Scholarship Exam

Students have the option to write the exam in English, Gujarati, Kannada, Sindhi, Urdu and Marathi media. The question paper will be divided into 3 parts. The first paper will include questions on Language & Social Sciences, the second paper will include questions on Mathematics and the third paper will include questions on General Science. The main aim of this paper is to check the intelligence of the students. Each paper will hold 50 questions. The students can pick the correct answers from a given set. The questions will contain 2 marks each. Every paper will have duration of 1 hour.

Qualification Criteria for the Maharashtra Middle School Scholarship Exam

Regular Students of class 4 who are from schools under the aegis of the state government are eligible for the scholarship as to get admittance in class 5 in a respective school of the public sector. The students must be no less than 12 years and not more 15 years at the time of applying. The age limit is relaxed in case of students of the backward categories. The age for applying of boys of the reserved categories is 14 years and the same for the girls is 15 years.

Application Procedure for the Maharashtra Middle School Scholarship Exam

The application form in the prescribed format ought to be submitted to the concerned education officer of the district. The applications can also be sent to the Education Officer, BMC, Greater Mumbai. Students of the general category will have to make a payment of Rs. 27/- (Rs. 5/- for students of the backward categories). This fee is inclusive of both Application form fee and Exam fee. If the students submit their applications past the due date, they will be fined Rs. 50/-extra. In case the schools of the institution the student is studying in is responsible for the late submission of the application, they will have to pay a fine of Rs. 100/-.
