    Hey,
Its nice to know that you want to continue being in your technical field.
There is no compulsion pertaining to opting the same field for your post-grad as your graduation degree.
But You have bagful of options to choose from like
software engineering, computer science, information technology, information security

    All the best..!!

    Dear Friend,

B-tech is 4 years full time graduation in engineering.

you have done the B-tech in IT branch...

you can go for the M-tech.

M-tech is 2 years full time master degree in engineering...

It requires the GATE entrance exam.

If you are B-tech(IT) graduate then you can go for various Branches in M-tech:

    IT

    Computer

    Electronic and telecommunication

    environmental engineering

    Computer science engineering

    etc...

Better go for the same branch in M-tech also...

    Thank You!!!!

Re: Which M.Tech specialization will be good for B.Tech (IT) graduates?

    Hello Dude........

M.Tech is the Master of Technical studies and this course of study is done actually after the completion of the Graduation in the Bachelor of Technology or the Bachelor of Engineering course of study. This Master of technical course of study is done through the entrance examinations which are conducted as university wise and some are all India wise and state wise examinations.
M.Tech is mainly the master degree and this course is doing the specialization in the area of interest among the specializations which are available you can take up one of the course and can do the specialization in that area.

Generally the GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test for Engineering) is done for entering in to the Master of Technology course of study and after getting good score in the GATE you will be given the seat in the M.Tech according to your score and the advantages of the GATE examination is that if you get qualified in the GATE you will be given the stifund while learning the M.Tech course and also a preferred value will be there for the GATE qualified candidates...........

M.Tech in the Information Technology candidates can take up the specializations in the fields of the Computers also and some of the specializations which are available for the M.Tech in IT are..........
    *Computer Science
    *Information Technology
    *Information Security
    *Software Engineering
    *Distributed Computing
    *Image processing
    *Embedded Systems
    *Computer Networks
    *Computer Graphics
These are some of the specializations which are available for the IT graduates in the Masters of Technology course of study and you can take up any one of the course of study in these specializations and as you are of the IT graduate if you had interest you can take up the M.Tech in
    Computer Networking
    Computer Science
    Embedded Systems
As these had better future for the IT graduates............

There are also many of the top organisations which are available and which are taking up the candidates who had done the M.Tech and also the GATE qualified candidates with out doing the M.Tech also can enter in to the Public Sector undertakings directly as they will recruit only the GATE qualified candidates..........

Re: Which M.Tech specialization will be good for B.Tech (IT) graduates?

    Dear Friend,

you are not eligible for M-tech just after BSC(IT).

M-tech is 2 years master degree in Engineering.

It requires minimum Bachelor Degree in engineering...

After that it requires the entrance exam like GATE exam.

For gate exam you should have done for the Minimum Master degree.

    So,

    First done the MCA complete..

then go for the GATE exam.

then you can go for the M-tech in only IT branch...

    Thank You!!!
