NET exam is conducted to test the ability of teaching, skills, concepts.National eligiblity test is conducted every year for those students who desire to make a career in teaching.Remmember one thing that there are two exams net and set,so dont be confuse in between both.Set exam is conducted for those who wants to be eligible to teach in scool and net qualifier are eligible to teach in college.Net exam is one of the toughest exam sometimes many biriliant people get failed in this exam.To get qualify in net exam the only thing is that you must have clear each and every concepts. Eligiblity-Eligiblity for net exam is that a candidate must be postgraduate in any discipline form a recognized university. So m.phil is not necessary to appear in net exam.Good luck.

To become lecturer one has to clear UPSC NET exam held twice a year - june & december.
For NET you have to 55% in PG course.
For NET M.phil is NOT an essential qualification.
M.phil was mandatory 15 yrs. Ago.

    Thanks

No,it is not necessary for a NET qualified person to do M.Phill to become a lecturer.

After qualifying NET,you should enroll yourself in a college and do your P.hd from there.

After doing your P.hd,apply for lecturer job where there is vacancy.

    You will be easily recruited.

    Best of luck.
