    IAS exam is conducted by UPSC in once time in year through Civil Service Exam.So you must attend in CSAT exam.

    Those candidate have completed graduation degree or final year of graduation degree from recognized board are applicable for IAS exam.

    But your age should be in between 22 to 30 years old.Age relaxation is provide only for SC/ST/OBC category as per govt rule.

    The maximum attempts for SC/ST candidate is Unlimited. for OBC candidate it is 7 times and for general candidate it is 5 times.

    Also you must be in citizen in India.

    You can choose the Optional and Main subject as your strength.

    IAS optional subjects:



    You must have a degree.

    Age limits:
    Your age should be in between 21 to 30 years.

    Upper age limits :

    For SC/ST : 21 to 35 Years
    For OBC : 21 to 33 years

    Number of attempts for IAS :

    You can't give as no.of times as you can.

    General candidates : Four attempts
    Scheduled Caste(SC) and Scheduled Tribe(ST) : No restriction !!
    Other Backward Classes(OBC): Seven attempts

    IAS exam pattern :

    In order to crack IAS, you need to get over the 3 stages. They are :

    Prelimis
    Mains and
    Personal Interview

    You can't choose the following combination of subjects in IAS exam :

    (a) Political Science & International Relations and Public Administration;
    (b) Commerce & Accountancy and Management;
    (c) Anthropology and Sociology;
    (d) Mathematics and Statistics;
    (e) Agriculture and Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science.
    (f) Management and Public Administration;
    (g) Of the Engineering subjects, viz., Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering–not more than one subject.
    (h) Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science and Medical Science.


    Important Dates to Remember :

    Notification will be Published on: 04th Feb'2012

    Last Date for Submission of Application is on:05th March'2012

    Preliminary exam will be on 20th May'2012

    Main Exams will be started from 29.10.2012

    Hi,

    IAS is Abbreviated as Indian Administrative Service and the exam is conducted by the UPSC(Union Public Service Commission) Board . The notifications about the exam are published in the employment newspapers or updated in the UPSC website.

    To appear for the exams you need to fulfill some basic eligibility criteria:

    To appear for the exam you need to be a graduate from a recognized university.
    Final Year students are also eligible to appear for the exam.
    You age limit must be between 21 to 30 years
    • Upper Age Relaxation For OBC - 3 years.
    • Upper Age Relaxation for SC/ST - 5 years.


    You have to crack the exam within a limit.
    • General Category Candidates -4 times.
    • OBC Candidates- 7 times.
    • SC/ST Candidates - No limits.

    Exam Pattern:

    The Exam is Mainly Divided into two phases:
    • Preliminary exam
    • Main exam
    The preliminary exam consists of 2 papers which carries 200 marks each. If you Crack a good marks in the Preliminary exam you can appear for the Main exam. The Main exam consists of 9 papers.

    Imporatnt Dates of Exam:

    The Civil Services (Main) Examination 2012 will commence from 5-10-2012 and continue for 21 days. The first paper will be GS or General Studies followed by Essay and English (Compulsory). The third day will be the Indian Language paper and this will be followed by various optional papers on different days.

    IAS Stands for Indian Administrative Services and to become IAS Officer, You have to complete your Graduate degree course first and then you are eligible to apply for UPSC Civil services examination, This examination is conducted by UPSC Every year and the notification of this examination was already published and the last date of apply for this examination was already Over. So, if you have already applied for this examination then have to prepare for this examination well, only then you can cracked this examination.

    The examination is Conducted in 2 Stages, Preliminary Examination and Main examination. Firstly you have to cracked the Preliminary examination, only then you are eligible for Main examination. Preliminary examination is Objective type and there are 2 papers in this examination, If you cracked Preliminary examination then you are eligible for Main examination. In Main examination there are 9 papers and you have to choose the subjects in main examination on the basis of Graduation, the Question Papers III to IX will be set both in Hindi and English.

    dear this time the IAS exams will be more special than before and not for that it will feature new CSAT syllabus introduced from 2011, it was special because the pattern will be different from the 2011 exam.
    as we all know that IAS exam consists of

    and interview(personality test),

    while the preliminary in the objective type and the mains will be in written type and the interview will be in verbal you have to be prepared for this interview.

    Well if you want to become an IAS officer then you will have to appear for the civil service exam.The examination is conducted by the UPSC.

    The recruitment to civil service is completed in two phases ::

    1.Preliminary exam
    2.Main exam.:It consist of :

    Eligibility ::

    You must have passed your graduation in any streams from recognized college
    You should be between 21 to 30 years .There is some relaxation given to reserved caste students .The 5 years in upper age limit is extended for the SC/ST and for OBC i is extended to 3 years .

    IAS is Indian Adminstrative Service which comes under civil services and it is conducted by UPSC i.e., Union Public Service Commission.It is the most toughest job and it is not that you can not go through it.It is the most prestigious one in our country in which you can serve the country.

    Now coming to the eligibility criteria in this exam is that:
    You need to complete your graduation even if you are appearing for your final year exam also you can apply for the same.
    You should be 21 years to 30 years of age at the time of appearing.

    Dear IAS exam stands for Indian Admnistrative Service.There is a lot of competition for appearance of this exam...And this exam is very tough to appear but you must try..
    The Main examination comprises of nine papers, all of them of a descriptive type conducted within a span of 20 days.

    It is designed to test not only the academic talent of the aspirant but also his ability to coordinate and present his knowledge in a clear and coherent manner. The main Examination is intended to assess the overall intellectual traits and depth of understanding of candidates rather than merely the range of their information and memory.

    The scope of the syllabus for the optional subject papers for the examinat ion is broadly of the honours degree level i.e. a level higher than the bachelors degree and lower than the masters degree. In the case of Engineering and law, the level corresponds to the bachelor's degree.
    Let me give you the syllabus of IAS exam:

    Paper-I One of the Indian Languages to be selected by the candidate from the 22 languages included in the VIIIth Schedule to the Constitution (Qualifying Paper) 300 Marks
    Paper-II English (Qualifying Paper) 300 Marks

    HERE IS A LIST OF SUBJECTS FOR IAS EXAMS AS PER THE UPSC SYLLABUS UNDER EACH SUBJECS IS PROVIDED RESOURCES REGARDING THE MAINS IAS SYLLABUS AS WELL AS QUESTION PAPERS,STRATEGY AND SUGGESTED READINGS FOR THE SUBJECT. THE IAS SYLLABUS AND OTHER SERVICES LIKE THE IPS AND INCOME TAX IS THE SAME, AS IT IS A SINGLE EXAM CONDUCTED BY UPSC AND THE SYLLABUS IS ALSO SET BY THE UPSC.

    IAS exam is conducted by UPSC in once time in year through Civil Service Exam.So you must attend in CSAT exam.

    Those candidate have completed graduation degree or final year of graduation degree from recognized board are applicable for IAS exam.

    But your age should be in between 22 to 30 years old.Age relaxation is provide only for SC/ST/OBC category as per govt rule.

    The maximum attempts for SC/ST candidate is Unlimited. for OBC candidate it is 7 times and for general candidate it is 5 times.

    Also you must be in citizen in India.

    You can choose the Optional and Main subject as your strength.

    You must have a degree.

    Age limits:
    Your age should be in between 21 to 30 years.

    Upper age limits :

    For SC/ST : 21 to 35 Years
    For OBC : 21 to 33 years

    Number of attempts for IAS :

    You can't give as no.of times as you can.

    General candidates : Four attempts
    Scheduled Caste(SC) and Scheduled Tribe(ST) : No restriction !!
    Other Backward Classes(OBC): Seven attempts

    IAS exam pattern :

    In order to crack IAS, you need to get over the 3 stages. They are :

    Prelimis
    Mains and
    Personal Interview

    You can't choose the following combination of subjects in IAS exam :

    (a) Political Science & International Relations and Public Administration;
    (b) Commerce & Accountancy and Management;
    (c) Anthropology and Sociology;
    (d) Mathematics and Statistics;
    (e) Agriculture and Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science.
    (f) Management and Public Administration;
    (g) Of the Engineering subjects, viz., Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering–not more than one subject.
    (h) Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science and Medical Science.


    Important Dates to Remember :

    Notification will be Published on: 04th Feb'2012

    Last Date for Submission of Application is on:05th March'2012

    Preliminary exam will be on 20th May'2012

    Main Exams will be started from 29.10.2012

    Dear Aspirant!

    The exam for Indian Administrative Service is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission.The Eligibility details of the P.O posts are as follows:

    1.Candidates must have completed graduation from any recognized university.
    2.Minimum 21 years of age.
    3.The maximum age allowed is 30 years.
    4.Age relaxation is provided for reserved categories.
    4.5 years for SC/ST Candidates.
    5.3 years for OBC candidates.
    6.10 years for physically handicapped candidates.

    The above mentioned are the eligibility details of the I.A.S Exam.

    EXAM PATTERN
    Coming to the exam pattern,there are 3 stages totally involved.They are:
    1.PRELIMINARY Examination.
    2.Main Examination.
    3.Interview.

    Every round is a knockout round and candidates who are qualified in the preliminary exam are only eligible for the Main Examination.After the Main Examination there will be an Interview which is the final stage of the examination.

    3. Interview


    After these test merit list will be prepared based upon the score of all marks obtained by the candidate during all three.
