    Jorhat Engineering College, Assam

    Jorhat Engineering College was established in the year 1960 by the Government of Assam as the second engineering college in Assam. This institution is popular among the technical aspirants residing in North East India. The first postgraduate course was started in the year 1987. MCA course was that first postgraduate course. Postgraduate courses in Engineering of this college got approval from the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) very recently. Every course offered by this institution is recognized by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE). This is a famous institution located in Jorhat district of Assam and is affiliated to Dibrugarh University.

    Admission Procedure of Jorhat Engineering College

    Candidates who are applying for any B.E course should pass the specified qualifying examination with a minimum of 50% aggregate. Directorate of Technical Education in Assam will conduct Joint Admission Test for such candidates. Admission to this undergraduate course will be based on the Joint Admission Test score. The candidate’s age should not be below 17 years or above 21 years. Relaxation will be given to the reserved category in the case of percentage of marks and age. If the aspirants are applying for M.E course, then they should possess a valid GATE score. Those who seek admission to M.C.A course should complete their graduation in the respective stream. Admission will be made in accordance with the rank obtained in the State Level Entrance Exam.

    Jorhat Engineering college is situated in Jorhat ,assam
    in Jorhat engineering college there is about total 315 seats in different branch
    computer science -60 seats
    mechanical engineering-90 seats
    electrical engineering-60 seats
    civil engineering-75 seats
    instrumentation engineering-30 seats
    the 85% of seats are taken through assam cee

    Hi friened,
    the jorhat enginnering college situated in jorhat,assam. The college has 315 set capasity in different branches such as in
    cmputer -60, electrical-60 civil-90 istrument-75 etc. A candidate can admit in this college if he/she qualify the CEE in above mention branch.

    B.E : BACHELOR IN TECHNOLOGY

    Eligibility :

    1.Be an Indian Citizen, and a permanent resident of Assam.

    2.Pass the Higher Secondary Examination of the Assam Higher Secondary

    Education Council, or it's equivalent, in which the subjects English, Physics,

    Chemistry, and Mathematics.

    3.Pass the qualifying examination (as specified above), securing a minimum

    in the case of Schedule Tribes).

    4. Must not be above 21 years, or below 17 years of age on the first

    merit of the Joint Admission Test conducted by the Director of Technical

    Education, Assam, in places and times notified by the Director of Technical

    In the admission test, candidates must appear in the following papers:

    Mathematics: 100 Marks in 3 Hours

    Physics: 100 Marks in 3 Hours

    Chemistry: 100 Marks in 3 Hours

    The Director of Technical Education, Assam, will publish the merit list based

    on the results of the Joint Admission Test.

    Exemption from the Admission Test:

    *The following categories of candidates are exempted from

    appearing in the Admission Test.

    *Candidates nominated against reserved seats for other States, Union Territories,

    and Foreign Countries by their respective Governments, provided they satisfy

    the conditions for eligibility.

    How to Apply :

    *The application form will consist of two sets, Form A, and Form B. Form.

    * A would have the Admit Card form attached to it. Candidates need only fill in Form.

    * A Candidates should be very careful in filling up the address at which he or she

    wishes to receive the admit card in the Admit Card portion of Form A.

    *The admit cards will be sent by Certificate of Posting. Form B, duly filled in,

    need be submitted only at the time of interview for the final selection after

    declaration of results of the Joint Admission Test.

    *Candidates ranked within the first 10 positions in the Assam Higher Secondary

    (Science Stream) Examination of the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council.

    Reservation of Seats :

    I HAVE GOT 141 MARKS IN CEE AND MY RANK IS 818. WILL I GET IN ELECTRICAL BRANCH IN JEC? MY CATEGORY IS GENERAL.

    sir,i am not a permanent resident of assam but i am in assam for last 12years and i have complete my h.s.l.c ,h.s and graduation from jorhat, sir can i get admission in jec for mca without having prc of assam ?
