Joint Entrance Examination for B.V.Sc & A.H (EVETS)

The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board was established in the year 1962 as the examination board for the admission of students to engineering degree courses in various colleges. This board was formed with the concept of organizing common admission tests for the engineering colleges in the State. Now this state examination board conducts competitive examinations for the admission of eligible students to various degree courses in West Bengal.

Joint Entrance Examination for B.V.Sc & A.H or EVETS is the entrance examination organized by WBJEE Board for the admission of candidates to Bachelor’s degree course in Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry in the colleges affiliated by West Bengal University of Animal and Fishery Sciences.

Structure and Pattern of Joint Entrance Examination for B.V.Sc & A.H

The EVETS examination organized by the WBJEE Board is a written test which includes objective type questions. The examination is carried out as two papers. The Paper-1 is the Biological Sciences and Paper-2 includes Physics and Chemistry. Each paper is for duration of two hours and total 100 marks each. Students have to clear both the papers separately. All questions will be provided with multiple choices from which students have to pick out the right one. One third marks will be reduced for each wrong answer.

Qualification Criteria for Joint Entrance Examination for B.V.Sc & A.H

In order to attend for this examination; candidates must satisfy some qualification criterion. First of all they must be an Indian citizen. They should have attained the age of 17 years at the time of admission and there is no upper age limit. They should have pursued pass in the 10+2 examination recognized by the State HSE or equivalent. Also they must have pursued minimum of 50% in Physics, Chemistry and Biology. For the candidates from deprived categories (SC/ ST), it is 45%.

Application Procedure of Joint Entrance Examination for B.V.Sc & A.H

Candidates who wish to take part in this examination should submit an application form as prescribed by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board. It can be procured from any designated branches of United Bank of India by paying application fee of Rs.350/-. The information brochure is also available along with the form. Students can also obtain the form via post by sending a request and application fee of Rs.450/- as DD to the concerned official address. The application form should be then carefully filled with their own handwriting and send to the specified address of the examination board only through speed post.
