You have the option to join either Merchant Navy or Indian Navy. If you would like to join Merchant Navy then the minimum qualification required is 12th standard. You need to have pursued the science subjects i.e. Physics and Chemistry along with Mathematics. Since you are diploma holders you need to check whether it is equivalent to the 12th standard. You must have pursued the diploma course from a recognised institute. You will need to appear for the entrance exams like IGNOU. Thereafter there is pre sea training. After which you can join as a deck cadet. If you are interested in joining Indian Navy then you need to complete your engineering. Since you are a diploma holder you can enter the second year of engineering through the lateral entry scheme. You need to make a decision which area interests you.

The minimum eligibility to join Indian navy in the nautical science and Marine engineering, is to have 10+2 in PCM subject. The candidate must also pass the Medical fitness test according to the standard norms. Either you enter in to the navy with the 12th standard qualification and go through pre sea training and join in as Deck cadet. It is possible for you to join a 12 month pre sea training course. Some institutions also offer a 6 month course for general purpose rating. A job in the merchant navy is very challenging and is stress full at times there for it is required for the candidates to have mental stability. If you get a bachelors degree then it is possible for you to join in the Navy in the Engine cadet. As you have a diploma in computer engineering it would be better if you go for a lateral entry in engineering and then apply in the Navy. There are many institutions which offer pre-sea training. MERI offer a 9 month course for engineering students.

since you are a diploma holder you can come and join in navy , but before joining in navy you have to appear for an entrance exam if you pass the exam then you will be selected for the training ,you can opt for murchant navy or Indian navy ,

yes you can join indian navy after doing your diploma in computer
engineering .there is a CDS exam conducted by UPSE in that there
is a written exam and after that there is a interview called SSB exam
so to be eligible for the CDS exam you have to be graduate with minimum
60%
after your SSB interview they call you to choice defence area in which you
want to go like in navy ,air force or in army

You cannot join in navy if you have passed diploma after 10th , on the basis of Joint Entrance Test(JET).
For joining in navy you must have passed +2(non-medical) with aleast 60% marks in +2
After passing +2 you will become eligible for navy.
you are eligible only if you have done diploma after +2.
Your age should be between 16 1/2 - 19 1/2. , for joining in navy

Navy is the prestigious job for the sake of serving our country.
And as you are the computer engineer so that there is no such difficulties to apply for the Navy.
More over here the requirement for the Computer Engineers is not so much high which is the only cause.

The computer engineers have the responsibility in Navy are as follows:

1. Evaluate intercepted radar signals to determine origin
2.Identify sounds produced by ships, torpedoes, submarines, sonar transmissions, marine life and natural phenomena
3.Track surface and subsurface targets and operate underwater communications equipment

yes my friend you can join Navy after completing diploma or after 12th itself because after these you can write the exam for NDA . NDA exam is being conducted twice in a year by UPSC.
Age limit should be 16 1/2 - 19 1/2 . It should be remember that 12th with non-medical can only make you to appear for the exam otherwise not .

If you want to join navy then you will appear for the CDS exam taken by UPSC for entering into defence . The requirement for candidates to join navy is one should passed the 12th science with PCM subject and have 60% minimum result and diploma also 60% is minimum aggregation . CDS exam has two parts first is written test of MCQ type and then passing candidates will be called for medical test / skill test / interview . Then one can select in the army .

for joining navy the candidate should have completed 10+2 with science stream.a candidate can prepare for NDA(national defence academy) examination after completing 10+2 or if the candidate is in final year of 10+2.
