    International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO)

    International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO) is an international competition conducted for 15 year old students. It is purely an educational event. The objective of this test is to promote the career of students as scientists. Following are the details regarding this competition.

    Structure and Pattern of International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO)
    The exam is organized in 5 different stages.
    • 1st Stage: National Standard Examination in Junior Science (NSEJS) organized by the Indian Association of Physics Teachers (IAPT)
    • The questions will be of objective nature and there will be a total of 40 questions. The candidates will get 3 marks for each correct answer and for each wrong answer 1 mark will be deducted.
    • 2nd Stage: Indian National Junior Science Olympiad (INJSO) organized by the HBCSE
    • 3rd Stage: Orientation cum Selection Camp (OCSC) in Junior Science organized by HBCSE
    • 4th Stage: Pre-departure Training Camp (PDT) for IJSO
    • 5th Stage: Participation in International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO)

    Eligibility Criteria of International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO)

    The eligibility criteria for various stages are as follows.
    • NSEJS: All candidates who are 14 years of age and are in class tenth are eligible for this stage.
    • INJSO: Candidates qualified from the first stage and those who are exempted are eligible for this stage
    • OSCS: The Candidates selected from the merit list of INJSO are eligible for this stage.
    • A six member team will be selected at the end of this stage. This team will be eligible for the next two stages.
